Can you post a picture of your heated grips? Which kind did you get an how did you go about wiring it? Sorry, just caught this. I have yet to wire them up, but I have the Tusk brand heated grips. They were about $20. I used them on my FZ-1, the worked great. I wired them into the Headlight because it would not run when the ignition was off. Just in case I ever left them on (and I did a few times.) Never had a problem. I did try the cheap Chinese, heated grips once, they burned out quick.

Did some suspension tuning today posted on Stoltec thread.
Also, ran it up to 135 mph without it breaking a sweat. It felt like it had way more to give, but I ran out of safe open road, so had to back off. Couldn't verify any speed limiter control. I didn't nail it until around 95 when I shifted to 5th. Hit 6th around 130. It felt and sounded very relaxed. What a bike!
Outside temp was 50 and I really didn't notice.
Up north, we sit around all winter and lose touch with just how good it is. I'm constantly comparing to other great bikes and wonder if it's really a contender. Then I have one of those rides that takes any and all doubt away. Looking forward to many, many riding seasons ahead.

I fine tuned the high and low compression today for my riding and roads. I've got around 100 miles on it. I will write up my initial impressions compared to stock soon.

Waited 6 weeks for it to arrive. Shes looking fine now.
Very nice growl to that. You should get some vid clips of some of the bike taking off from a stop at a normal pace and riding by at a consistent street speed of like 30 or 35mph. I think these are the videos that people forget to get when showing the sound of the bike. :-)

Just ordered a Graves slip on. Did the cat delete with a stock exhaust. It's too loud. I thought I could deal with it but nope. It was between the Graves and the Yosh. I went with the Graves. I've had Yoshimura pipes before decided to mix it up.

I've had Yoshimura pipes before decided to mix it up. I had the same experience. Hopefully the slip on solves it for you. How did the mid pipe work out?

Pipe is perfect. The stock muffler clamps didn't fit but I found some at NAPA that worked well. Only bad thing is the flash I got was good until I unhooked the servo then it popped an engine light. Local guy did it so I'll take it back when he returns from out of town. I think it will be good once I get that and the slipon sorted out.

Put on Woodcraft front and rear axle sliders plus R&G bar end sliders. The front axle slider was super tight fit, but worked out ok in the end. Not sure the bar end sliders are much better than stock but they look cool.
As a related item, I always put my helmet on a shelf in the garage with the visor up so any moisture can escape. Was in the garage today and in flew two wrens, they were in the early stage of building a nest in my helmet. Guess they liked the dark protected space. I always put my foam earplugs on the shelf and then put the helmet over them. They didn't like that and both plugs were on the floor. Cleaned the twigs and stuff up and closed the visor, but then they couldn't figure out why they couldn't get in the helmet and kept running into the tinted visor. I shooed them out and they didn't come back. Same thing last year except it wasn't in my helmet. Will have to remember to keep the garage door closed for the next few weeks. It was 85 today in Texas, spring is upon us in the south.
Update, 2/25/17:
On 2/23 I took the bike out for a nice spin, the first really warm day we have had, 90 deg. About 30 miles into the ride on a good curvy road I slowly became aware of a heavy feel with the throttle, like it was stuck with no return action on the grip. H'mm....a very odd feeling in trying to fine tune the throttle, I never realized how much you rely on the return spring in operation. Proceeded on the ride but it was becoming a hassle to modulate the throttle, and in any sort of slow speed operation it was a PITA at best, semi-dangerous at worst. Got it back home and immediately thought that perhaps the new R&G bar end sliders were binding. Pulled them off but the throttle was still sluggish and non responsive. So I had the bright idea to shoot a little WD-40 between the throttle tube and the inner bar. That did nothing. At this point I thought maybe the return spring had become disengaged. So the next day drove it down the 26 miles to the dealer and left it with them (Friday). Got a call today saying the bike was all fixed, evidently some of the glue used in attaching the rubber grip had made its way into the space between the throttle tube and the bar, maybe when I took the original bar ends off and replaced them (?). When the temperature got close to 90 deg the glue became soft and bound the system. So they took it all apart, cleaned it and reassembled it, and now it is back to normal. They are submitting it to Yamaha as a potential production issue. Just be aware as the temperatures start to climb in the spring and summer.
Also had the Side Stand Switch campaign issue done as it was flagged in their system, Campaign Number 090XE. So I should be all up to date. But now the cool weather has returned, only 59 deg today.
