Put my rear wheel back on with my minty fresh rear tire. Had 1415 miles on it when I ran over a pair of tweezers in a CVS parking lot that went dead nuts through the center. Also tore the bike down to remove body panels and tank for a wrap in 3M satin smoldering red. I also installed my ECU that just came back from 2WDW for a flash and installed my BMC air filter. Did you talk to 2wdw bout running aftermarket air filter? I read multiple times that they recommend the factory air filter. The high flow filters will throw off the A/F ratio!

Yes I let them know that I was going to be running the BMC filter so the tune should be all set for it 👍

Got my PAIR valve removed and Graves block off plates installed. Also got the bike fully torn down for the wrap. Going to do all the panels that come colored on the Ice Fluo version but they're getting done in 3M Satin Vampire Red 🔥🔥 Also got the O2 sensors removed but found out that I ordered the wrong connectors for the wiring harness and can't seem to find where I put the plugs that came with my exhaust so I ordered a kit from eBay

The BMC filter was part of your tune right? Yes. I put it in the notes when I sent off the ECU that I had the BMC

Just had wheels powder coated and new tyres fitted. Before After i like it. It's surprising how much difference the wheels make. Nice job!

Going to do all the panels that come colored on the Ice Fluo version but they're getting done in 3M Satin Vampire Red 🔥🔥 I'll be waiting to see how this come out! I've been debating powder coating the wheels red since I go the bike almost 4 years ago now. And in the last couple years also debating repainting parts or wrapping like you're going to do!

I'm also thinking of doing the wheels red to match lol. I'll see how it looks with the black first. My friend has all the parts and he said he should have it all done by early next week.

While the bike is apart for the wrap I noticed the paint was already flaking off my Yoshimura undertail. Only 1400 miles on it - WTF Yosh?? So I scraped off the flaking paint and used a red scotch brite to scuff the rest. Hit it with some primer and then some semi-gloss black. Looks much better and with the primer it should hopefully hold up better. If it starts flaking again I'll just have it powder coated.

I got my Puig levers and mounts in last night. I mounted the levers to their adapters/mounts but I didn't have time to put them on the bike yet. They seem like top quality parts and having adjustability on my clutch lever finally will be a huge plus. I got the shorty levers and while I've had a shorty brake lever before I've never had a short clutch lever. I just hope that it's not a negative when I get stuck in traffic. I'll post pics once I get them installed.

Drilled and tapped my stock shift lever for a GP-style shift pattern. Wished I had some real nice aftermarket rearsets, and I do plan on getting a set this spring, but this mod was free so why not? Now if only the weather would cooperate for a test ride...

Now if only the weather would cooperate for a test ride... I did the same - so much nicer lol. I'm thinking of just powdercoating my stock setup in satin black to match the rest of the bike. The position is fine with me so I don't feel I need to drop ~$600 on a new setup lol

So does that mean you would push down to go up in gear? Or what is the benefit?

It's for track racing really. No need.

It's for track racing really. No need. Partially right, since I have done some trackdays on my MT and my R1 also has reverse shifting. But it's also so much easier to push down to upshift. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but one advantage is that if you don't like it, you can always revert back to standard shifting. For me though, I've gotten used to it for street riding.

Changed out coolant. Nice and easy, followed shop manual. Out for a ride in the 35 degree weather right after, check engine light came on. Must be coincidence - coolant, oil, everything is fine. We’ll see

So does that mean you would push down to go up in gear? Or what is the benefit? Yep, 1 up 5 down instead of 1 down 5 up. It's for track racing really. No need. This. It's personal preference. The use in racing is so your toe is above the shifter in the corners and therefore further away from the ground. Yea I switched mine on my TLR way back in 2004. I've gotten used to it being that way on my bikes since and now that's how I'm wired to shift. The first week or so on the MT I kept screwing up because I was so used to the reverse. That next weekend I flipped the shifter lol
