Thanks, I'll try to get one tomorrow if the sun is out. Yes the headers are from an R1M, they are grayish blue. I think I would have to stand them down pretty good to get the color I want.

Love the bike! http://instagr.am/p/Bn0dsQ2gqyo The comments section talks about sanding with 800 grit and up then polish on his R1 headers and this is what I hope to get on my blue MT10. I just need to source headers so i am looking for a clean set.

I was looking at ebay and on here for a cheaper set that i could wet sand and polish...new ones seem to go in the 700ish and up range when i have shopped them new.

Deleted. Don't know that the hell happened. Replied to another thread and was posted here.
EDIT: Turns out it was the right thread. Ha ha. Didn't notice there was another page. Geez. Sorry folks.

Got my Evotech SRL swingarm nuts in today. They look great. Hey, do you mind telling us how exactly you torqued them down? Do you need a special tool to hold the larger one in place, or just the one you insert on the axle? And what's the torque value needed? Thx.

Do you need a special tool to hold the larger one in place, or just the one you insert on the axle? And what's the torque value needed? Thx. Thank you sir. I don't have a spanner wrench...sooo. I used my snap-on torque wrench in reverse to loosen the left side nut, since it holds the torque reading for a few seconds. It was a touch over 81 ft-lb. I removed it and tapped the axle with a dead blow hammer to let the pressure off the right side nut, then removed it with my fingers. I installed the right side SRL nut until I was satisfied with the depth. I then held the right side of the axle with my front wheel axle key and installed the left side nut. Torqued to 71 ft-lb. I didn't go to 81, I don't trust the aluminum. Heath

Looks good! I gotta get a blipper on mine and some R1 headers to sand! Looks like a great place to live out in KY! I'm in Ohio and have to go south for the best roads. Or to TN/NC

Installed a set of Venhill air-free banjo bolts on the ABS pump beneath the seat. Helps get that last bit of trapped air from the unit when it comes time for a brake bleed. I also located the CRG arrow bar-end mirror I tried out on my Ducati a couple of years back. Going to give that style of mirror mounting a shot this spring after the rains end and I order up a set of Rhino bar-end weights to go with them.

Enjoyed the abnormally beautiful weather and went out riding and exploring. Made a wrong turn and found myself on a muddy road; looked like the muddy part only went on for 50 yards or so. I was waaaay wrong. Had to slowly inch my way until I found a spot to turn around and inched my way back to pavement. Road around for another hour or so. Jumped off the bike and instantly realized I'll be washing the bike. Spent almost as long cleaning my riding jacket and helmet as I did on the bike. After the Super Bowl, installed my TechSpec tank pads.

What a mess. Ha ha. It's confirmed with the tail tidy is a major job to clean after a rain (or mud) excursion . Anyway, I also went for a ride, but was cut short due to a storm building, and dust clouds all over the place. Came back home with 497 miles on the clock, and proceeded to change the faactory oil with Castrol Power1 4T 5/40, so bike is fully ready for my riding season . Removing the filter was a royal PITA, just like I expected from this forum.

Finally got around to installing the R1 front master cylinder. I had ordered and received the complete Brembo brake reservoir kit from KurveyGirl (www.kurveygirl.com) some time ago. With nothing else to do I went ahead and drained the stock MC and replaced it with the better bits. Stock switch transferred over but it remains to be seen how it all works...forecast calls for rain on and off all week. One thing I can immediately tell is the lever shape. The stock lever had too wide of a span from the grip, even with the adjuster set as close as it would go, and the cross section was, for lack of a better word, too "boxy." the R1's stock lever has a more rounded profile that feels more comfortable. I also removed the stock mirrors and mounted up my CRG Arrow along with a CRG adapter that I tried on my Ducati. The cockpit area looks much cleaner!
Now, if only this damn rain would finally stop...
