Last month I replaced my rear tire, the dealer was pretty careful with the fluro rims and I only had three very small scars on the rims. Nothing dramatic, not really noticeable unless you were carefully looking, but they bothered me nonetheless. Before I had the tire replaced I had ordered the ColorRite paints for the fluro rims: 1043 Base coat, 1510 Light Leaf Green Solid 6 (LLGS6), and flat eggshell clearcoat (total price about $58 delivered). Dabbed on two coats of the base paint, two light coats of the fluro paint, and two coats of the clearcoat. Perfect match, can't even see where it was touched up. Gives me peace of mind knowing any relatively minor damage to those bright wheels can be mitigated. Having these paints is a must, imo, to touch up any damage to those rims. Be prepared!

I think I'm done with my upgrades. Just added Lightech chain adjusters from Cyclegear $300. Great mod you can adjust the chain in 5min. Also installed SC Project Conical slip on. $585 that's $300 less than the S1 and without the baffle it sounds the same witch is awesome. Can you please record a sound clip. I just ordered the S1 yesterday, but will change it up if this one fits the bill.

Ordered a set of tires, the stock ones have 1400 miles on them and maybe 300-500 mores before they are at the wear bar, I went with a set of Bridgestone S21's, I was tempted to try some sport touring tires for the extra mileage but got a set of the 21's for $240 shipped and I also ordered some angled valve stems to replace the stock ones, they make checking air pressure so much easier, all my Triumphs came with them, I have access to a NoMar machine so I don't have to pay for mounting and balancing.

Installed my G2 Throttle Tamer throttle tube, and some new Driven Racing D-Axis grips. ...easiest install ever. The grips feel great and really look the business on the black FZ, and the throttle tube? ...holy crap what a difference. It has literally transformed the bike. B[east] mode is now quite manageable, A is a peppier version of what standard was, and standard is my new rain mode! Extremely happy with the purchase. Very smooth throttle tube, installed in, maybe 5 minutes. With grip install on both sides the entire job took a total of about 10 minutes start to finish. I am looking at the G2 street tamer as well, I think this should not change but just wanted to confirm, does your Cruise control still works? Does the G2 also works with stock grips?

It has no effect on the cruise control at all and is a drop in replacement for the stock throttle tube (the Graves one requires you to modify your throttle housing). As for the stock grips, they'll work fine ...if you can get them off the old tube without destroying them (or buy new ones). My stock grips were very glued on, couldn't break them free with my compressor, so I just upgraded the grips at the same time.

best photo hosting serviceFinally installed the BMC race filter.. and did a little modding to this extremely restricted air box. The snorkel is the stock intake to the air box, very small compared to the size of the intake chamber itself. I removed it and cut out the giant hole (pictured is the ruff cut) where the snorkel inserted before. Immediate noticeable results upon running the bike parked were instantaneous throttle response, and the engine sounded stronger yet slightly lean, so I'll be going for a test ride after I reflash the ECU with an appropriate map later tonight.

Immediate noticeable results upon running the bike parked were instantaneous throttle response, and the engine sounded stronger yet slightly lean, so I'll be going for a test ride after I reflash the ECU with an appropriate map later tonight. Update.. with the ECU re flashed to accommodate the filter and air box mod, the bike definitely has more horsepower up above 6k rpm and the front wheel comes up easier with less power. The engine sounds and feels slightly smoother and less hesitant now, twist the throttle and she jumps immediately with no delay even sub 4k rpm. Throttle response is a little quicker, and the engine seems to grunt out of low rpms smoother and with less lugging sound/feel coming from the cylinders. This mod definitely made a noticeable improvement. The slight taper of power near redline seems to have gone away as well, and she pulls very linearly all the way to redline now. I plan on boring out the air box intake even more in the near future as it is still less than half the size of the filter itself. I recommend this to everyone even if you are keeping the stock filter...

Bought a carbon fiber front fender and rear hugger from a fellow FZ10.org member. In spite of the fine USPS trying to destroy the box in transit it survived except for a two areas of damage to the front fender (the most serious on the back edge, but not viewable when on the bike.) Some JB Weld suitable for carbon fiber and use of a Dremel tool stabilized everything and the damage not noticeable unless you are really looking for it. Good match for the Yoshimura Alpha T slip on exhaust.

Good match for the Yoshimura Alpha T slip on exhaust. How do you like the Alpha T? Any discernable difference in exhaust note? Increase or decrease in volume? Would you buy it again or go a different route? Cheers!

Good match for the Yoshimura Alpha T slip on exhaust. How do you like the Alpha T? Any discernable difference in exhaust note? Increase or decrease in volume? Would you buy it again or go a different route? Cheers! As is commonly known the actual muffling of the exhaust is done in the cat, and not in the exhaust can. Although the stock titanium muffler is a nice looking unit I wanted something that looked a little different and more purposeful. I've had good luck with Yoshimura products over the years and I liked the look of the Alpha T. Installation only takes about 10 minutes with perfect fit, typical with Yosh products. The sound is about one tone lower and sounds good, volume maybe a tick louder but not dramatic. Sounds excellent and much better than stock at speeds up to about 40 mph at which point wind noise and engine clatter drowns out whatever difference there may be from what is penetrating through my helmet and ear plugs. Perhaps bystanders could hear a difference, but the rider can't. Overall I'm very happy with it, subtle change in note and tone (for the better) with no hassles with errant codes, rough running and often obnoxious sound that you can get when you remove the cat and go with a 3/4 system. I did not want a lot more volume which is why many go with a 3/4 system and remove the cat, I just don't like loud bikes, it doesn't make them go any faster. I'd definitely buy it again, no regrets. (Note: it comes with a dB killer that can be installed but I see no need for that.)

No fuss, and coming from a sport-twin with a race system, it's nice to have a little stealth with this bike considering how bonkers it is - but I'd like just a *little* more of that sweet, sweet CP4 sound... Found a local guy selling a like-new one with 600 miles on it for $470, and I'm thinking *maybe*...

Alright, I've been trying to hold out but I just can't anymore. Here is a teaser pic. Been slowly working on installing my hindle exhaust, flash and ais block off plates I purchased from 2wheeldynoworks. Got the exhaust on tonight and if the ais block off plates come in tomorrow I will finish up the install. Just to excited not to share.
