Currently got an AGV Corsa 2013 VR46 winter test helmet, but just ordered the AGV Sport Modular in Flouro Yellow. Was a toss up between the Flouro Yellow and the Matt Black with Italian striping. Went for the yellow purely to help being seen in bad weather as I want the bike to be used for touring which means all sorts of weather, so the more I can be seen the better. The AGV Corsa will remain as my track day helmet. Track Helmet...... New road helmet......

Schuberth C3 Pro with a Sena 10R intercom. Quietest helmet you can buy. Had installed a Givi sport screen, which ended up dumping all the air at my neck, making it noisy, so I shortened the screen 1 1/2". The helmet is awesome out in undisturbed air.

The Shoei GT Air is quieter than the Schuberth?

Current helmets - left: Shoei X14; right: Shoei RF1200 The X14 has a dark smoke shield, just didn't have it yet when I snapped the pic. Past helmets - Arai Vector 2; Bell Vortex Ranked in order of comfort/fit/quality (best-worst) - X14 -> Vector 2 -> RF1200 -> Vortex The Arai fit me best but the X14 has better quality/finish. I'd love to own another Vector 2 but I never cared for Arai graphics. The few Arai graphic schemes I do like are on helmets which don't fit my head shape.

I've had an RF-1100 for 3.5 years now and it smells like absolute death. I need to invest in a helmet dryer or something when I get a new helmet. I've been thinking about getting a GT AIR next season.

I bought a new Bell Race Star matte black carbon fiber helmet last Fall, after riding with the same old Scorpion Exo700 helmet for nearly ten years. That Scorpion served me well. I like the Bell too. Before investing in that new helmet, I did a ton of research on the latest safety standards, proper sizing and fit, outer shell and inner lining technology, noise management, air flow, electronic bells and whistles, etc. I tried on so many helmets over a period of two days, that my ears hurt for a week afterward. For me, it ultimately came down to comfort. I decided that any of the major brands had invested enough R&D into building a safe helmet, that I didn’t need to worry too much about that. I wanted a quiet helmet. But, the real-life user reviews, of the helmets that claim to be the quietest out there, were all over the place. I kind of decided, based on my research, that riding a motorcycle is loud. Haha. I’m probably gonna wear hearing protection any time I ride longer that 30-45 minutes, no matter what helmet I buy. The cool integrated electronics are tempting, but near the bottom of my priority list. Appearance (looking good) is important, but all the major brands have that covered too. I definitely needed good air flow and venting as well, since I often ride in warm weather. I had to trust user reviews on that quality. Name brand is relatively unimportant to me, as long as it’s a major brand with a solid reputation. I set my max price at $750, which is high enough to get a great helmet. I tried on all the $250 helmets and $750 helmets (and every thing inbetween) with an equally open mind. So, I tried on dozens of helmets, at several local retailers, in various sizes, for a couple days, and went with the one that felt like it fit my particular face/head perfectly. www.bellhelmets.com/powersports/helmets/street/race-star-48

What is your impression of the X14 as a street helmet? If you use it for street. It's fine; I really don't notice any real advantage/disadvantage given its track-oriented design. I only bought it because I absolutely loved the graphic and am a Marquez fan. I really have no need for such a technical helmet. At most I noticed less buffeting vs. the RF1200 when I would tuck on my old CBR600RR than when I tuck on my FZ-10, although I attribute that to a full-fairing vs. naked bike.
