I PM'd Nels this morning but also thought I'd post my questions here in case prior customers have the answers I'm going out of town (without the bike ) for a week at the end of this month so its a great time to have the flash done! My FZ10 is currently set up with; Yoshimura Alpha 3/4 Ti system for the R1AIS blockoff plates BMC Air Filter EXUP Delete -Will the EXUP, AIS, and O2 sensor disable with your flash allow me to remove the aftermarket plugs (servo buddy, etc) that keeps the CEL off? -Do you recommend modding the airbox with the flash? I've been thinking of removing the snorkel in the box and opening up the intake area. -The FZ10 has strong engine braking. Will the flash soften this? -What changes are made to the Std, A, and B throttle modes? I like A mode. I feel that Std is too lazy and B mode too twitchy/sensitive. -Would I notice any improvements with fine tuning to my bike if I added a PCV Autotune after the ECU flash? I am in Virginia so I can't come by for a custom tune. Thanks everyone! This is the airbox mod I'm thinking of doing. Thank you! CruizinHe did get to me last night and answered most of my questions and asked that I email him directly. I think I should be on my way to getting squared away for the flash before I fly out!

so what was Nels response, specifically, to your 3d bullet regarding engine braking, if you don't mind my asking? Nick (Stoletec Moto) talks about working with Nels to soften the engine braking in his FZ-10 build thread (great read, btw - you'd find it interesting) in the Stoltec Moto area, but he doesn't go on to say whether Nels incorporated it or not. I'd like to soften my engine braking - I don't want it to be like a two stroke, but for me it's too strong the way it is.

tonysal he said that 'engine braking will be reduced and smoothed out' I don't want it gone completely, I just don't want it to feel like I'm stomping on the rear brake when I roll off, so it sounds like the flash would fix it. I'll give him a call today to follow up. As others have said, he's likely busy.

Woohoo!! Mine is on its way back to me!!!! That is fast! I'm shipping mine out early next week I'll come back from vacation and hopefully have it waiting for me! Lol...actually kind of wishing I wasn't going out of town. I'm looking forward mostly to reduced engine braking. The way it is now completely unsettles the bike in a corner. Before with other bikes it was always about reducing the jerk when rolling back on the throttle so its weird to have to be mindful when rolling off.

Nels does things the right way and his dyno numbers are exact. Many Tuners do not even know that they need to calibrate their 02 sensors DAILY, and those guys will mess your bike up.
Also, some charge less, but it is because they don't license their customer's tunes with FTECU, who makes the flash software that Nel's then customizes. You read that right, Nels pays FTECU for a license for every ECU that he flashes. Some tuners have a cheaper price because they cheat FTECU out of their license fee and just keep using that one baseline tune that they bought years ago. Which I consider to be fraud.
All things considered, Nels is the very best Tuner that I know. He does everything the right way, you always know for a fact that his Dyno is calibrated perfectly to a t, and his price also includes lifetime flash changes in case you change your exhaust or whatever. And he always has the latest updates from FTECU, not the one from years ago to save a few bucks.

I suggest calling them and discuss your bike, which exhaust you have, what upgrades you have done, elevation, etc, etc. We here are just forum members, Nels is the expert. (425) 269-5332

We have many flash options depending on what you have or want. What exhaust do you currently have? Are you looking to upgrade it soon or eventually? We have great deals on Hindles and Graves systems that'll knock your socks off. We create flashes on the dyno for the mods it has, so every flash gets the same unleashed unrestricted disable this enable that etc options, but then we tune it for each exhaust combo and adjust the fueling/timing to suit the setup.
