The saga continues. Oil change at 158.8 miles. Mobil 1 4T and a Yamaha filter. Installed my Gold plug. If anyone didn't think of it...aluminum foil will keep your headers free of oil while changing the filter. I can't believe that I never thought of that. Thanks. Glad I could help!

Yesterday, I broke something!
I leaned over the seat of the bike to reach for a tool on the shelf, and my pullover pocket got caught on the brake light cover trim piece. When I moved back, *SNAP* and the sound of plastic hitting the floor. Ugh.
$4.84 part, that looks stylish, maybe has the function of providing some shade to the brake light so it’s not washed out by sunlight, but just so easy to break if you’re a little careless like I was!
For the sake of symmetry, I removed the other trim piece while the other side is on order. Now the FZ-09 brake light part looks more like it did on that bike - I like the trim pieces Yamaha added to the FZ-10. Which also makes me think that if one was inclined, they could order the Rizoma FZ-09 taillight replacement if they were thinking of doing something different. (I’m sure this is not a new idea, just that it occurred to me as something to consider if I wanted to change up the taillight looks)
Live and learn!
(After looking at the Rizoma part, and the FZ-09 tail, I don’t think it would work out!)

Finally made the jump to performance brake pads: EBC FA174HH and EBC FA380HH.
I'd write a long review detailing everything but all I'll say is, it's $90 for all 3 calipers, takes 1-2 hours of your time and it makes the brakes a thousand times better.

What I want to know is what those rear sets are. I ordered the Woodcraft rear sets and it doesnt work with the Austin Racing exhaust so its just sitting on the shelf in my room collecting dust right now.

I got my tail light cover part I ordered from Babbits www.babbittsonline.com and put the other side back on. Symmetry again! Also received in this order some OEM oil filters and Yamalube synthetic oil, Yamabond 7 for the grip installation I have on deck, and a Yamaha t-shirt. In case anyone was wondering, this discount code still works: WBR2

I ordered the Woodcraft rear sets and it doesnt work with the Austin Racing exhaust so its just sitting on the shelf in my room collecting dust right now. I had the headers ceramic coated to match the austin pipes. The rear sets are the Gilles (TST) and I had to cut down the muffler hanger bit to make it work with the austin kit

Nothing too exciting. Finally got my tank protector from China. Installed it... albeit a bit off-center but not too noticeable.

Took some inspiration from Richie's bikes and swapped the cigarette lighter for 2 usb ports and a voltmeter. Luckily I'm no longer a smoker. Also lifted the Ram mount handlebar concept from acclaimed forum user red and black. Happy with how both turned out as the mount doesn't obstruct the screen. my photos upload
