Getting my girl back from the dealer in a couple of hours. Just had the break in maintenance done so now I can test it out once it warms up a bit. The high today is 36 so I won't be rolling the dice on top speed yet. It almost seems futile until I get the reflash. I want to see a gps video over 160mph. I have a feeling someone will hit this by summer. I definitely will be getting a new helmet for this occasion. Damn cold weather! how much did they charge you? I just did the "break in maintenance" today myself because the dealer wanted 249 for it, or I could pay 2k for 3 years of service...... ie a handful of oil changes, a new chain and sprocket (maybe) and a valve adjustment (maybe). WHY WOULD I PAY FOR THAT?s

I saw 155'ish in my peripheral view (flashed ECU), was paying more attention to the road and the front end dancing around.. my spedo is tested 100% accurate after the flash as well. She lost a lot of steam at 148'ish, I'd say she probably had 160 in her if I kept going.

2017 MT10 Sp is restricted to 264 Kms/164 miles . It easly hits that with a wind reflector and me 90 Kgs.No matter climbing on highyway ..

164mph before Flash, rev limiter would cut in early, after flash seen 174mph twice on speedo.. GPS 162 This is on rev limiter in top gear..
and for any naysayers.. It hits limiter in 6th quite easy once laying on the tank.

143 miles per hour. Several attempts. GPS. Speedometer about 145 - 146. Stock. Can't get more than 143 which makes me wonder if speed is limited.
Near Utah Wyoming state line. 144mph.

My speedo said 160-161mph with my 230 lbs. fatass on it on the way home from work. I have a FT ECU bike side kit, auto blip, and a TwoBros exhaust with a custom dyno tune for my bike. It still had a little left in it too. My butt didn't though.

I read a Euro spec that said the MY-10 was limited to 164mph The FZ/MT is redline limited to around that speed, so not really limited in Europe; that's its potential top speed everywhere, period .

An oem Fz or Mt 10 for US market came with a diferent mapping , loosing 6-7 hp on high rev band. But all models from 16 to 19, SP included are limited to 250 km/h 155 Mph

Speedo hit 155, No flash, No exhaust. Was done on slight downhill. Didn't have the room to go anymore otherwise I would have pushed it to redline. My 2016 GSXS 750 hits 154 dowhill so I'm waiting to see how fast I can actually get the MT after ECU flash.

Missed the last 3 pages, since this forum doesn't show additional pages at the end of the first. Weird. Anyway, just wanted to add altitude can affect power levels quite a bit, depending where you live. You lose about 3% power for every 1K gain in altitude. At 4K' myself, I doubt my bike would hit the rev limiter in 6th. Or at the very least, it'd take A LOT longer than at sea level. Some people have said the FZ/MT-10 is limited at 135 in the US, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe in another market. So folks need to say where they live and at what altitude, to have more meaning. Having said that, like others, I'll probably never exceed 135 anyway, so it doesn't matter if it's limited there or not. I've done 185 on a bike before (my ex-Hayabusa), and even on a deserted, flat desert road with miles of visibility in every direction, it can be quite dangerous. An unconscious reaction from a critter crossing the tarmac could send you off road. Or a pothole, etc. And that's exactly why I wanted a naked bike this time: to feel the speed without having to actually speed that much. And that's also why I won't get a windscreen. I can do 85 sustained without fatigue, and that's fast enough for me, with a quick burst of acceleration every once in a while when safe. This bike is exactly what I wanted and needed . Finally, with 2 engine failures already, don't want to abuse my bike that much, so it can last a long time. Those exceeding the redline (above 160 or so) for any length of time are asking for trouble IMO, but to each his own.

I've hit 144 on "closed roads" with mine. It still had more to go. Not sure why people are thinking the speed is limited to 135. As said above, I know HP is limited to 135 in the US so maybe that is what people are thinking of? I'm not sure. When I did that though my bike was totally stock with the exception of frame sliders and a fender eliminator which adds like 50 HP.

Good to know speed is not limited to 135 MPH. But I can categorically tell you the 2017 FZ-10 is NOT limited to 135HP either. I have a copy of the MSO (which is the title from Yamaha, and it's attached below) and it clearly says SAE HP=148.0. I brought this up before on another thread, but many might have missed it. Now there's photographic evidence. He he. Bottom line is it's official both 135 figures are now debunked . Also listed is the shipping weight of 419 lbs, which includes everything except gas, so it's curb weight full of gas should be 449 lbs (4.5 gal @ 6.6 lbs each = 30 lbs). After all my mods, and a full tank of gas, I weighed mine with my home scale, and it showed 240 lbs on front tire, and 220 lbs on the rear, for a total of 460. So MSO weight checks out.

I’ve had mine to 142 a couple of times, 135+ a dozen or so times. My bike is stock. I think it feels pretty solid up top.
