I find it odd that it would be limited to that slow of a speed. My older Triump Daytona maxed out at about 157 (has a last top speed function on the computer) and that was moving pretty good. I've had my FZ to an indicated 130 on a rural back road with no indication that was anywhee near all it had. There are plenty of videos showing the MT doing over 260KPH which is roughly 161 MPH, no indication it was "flashed" but who knows I guess.

According to my calculations, it will do 163/164 indicated with a reflash. That mph happens to be rev-limiter in 6th.

I don't get how you guys take the wind at such high speeds. I've hit 115 crouched as low as I can go behind a Givi sport screen and I felt like I didn't want to go any faster. The bike wants to but my body doesn't!

I used to hit 150+ on my R6 occasionally and with ease. On the FZ-10, I've had it up to about 140 a couple times and it does not feel like the bike enjoys it.

Instead of getting a screen that works at 141, yuo could just not go that fast. ;-) This is true, but I can't put into words why I do.

I've hit 147 briefly. I noticed when I had slowed down that my mirrors had adjusted in slightly. Full tuck and no windscreen at those speeds causes a lot of turbulence even when wearing a high end helmet designed for reduced drag. The vibration at those speeds is intense.

I'm just going to place this here. I'm willing to bet we have all wondered. Whether track, abandoned back road, or otherwise, post your top speed and modifications you've done to date. Dyno top speed does not count. Lol. Quite interested in seeing these. This one is easy for me. I'm in San Diego and I ride up to Julian 3-4 times a week. Up I-67N, then though Julian and back around to return on I-8W. There are 4 to some degree long 1-2 mile straights on the I-8W where I can get the throttle up to about 60-75% in 6th for ~15 seconds or so.
I've heard all sorts of different top-speed numbers for the 2017 FZ-10 but the only cigar (at least for me) is to experience it first hand.
Bear in mind my 2017 FZ-10 is currently completely stock other than the " Yamaha FZ-10® Mid-Height Windscreen" I installed.
This morning coming back from Julian on the I-8W I finally got the clear opening to get to that 75% throttle in 6th. Once I did, and it took about ~13 seconds or less in mode B, I looked down briefly at my odo and it read 154mph. I was waiting for the rev limiter to kick in but it never did + to boot, I had a good amount of throttle room left. The only thing that got tweaked was my left-side mirror - the end tip was pointing at me.
This Wednesday my Akrapovic Yamaha FZ-10 17 Racing Line TI-TI-CF Full Exhaust System and Dynojet PCV will be finished, installed and custom mapped by Lee's Performance Motorcycles here in San Diego. Talk about unadulterated anticipation.
I'm chomping at the bit for this whole process to finally come to fruition!
Ride safe all my brothers from another Mother. . .
EDIT:
I forgot to mention this additional modification that will be completed along with the other 2 mods I mentioned above.
I'm having the ECU flashed too. I'm having it flashed such that according to the specs to remove ALL THE OEM RESTRICTIONS, namely the "2017 Yamaha FZ-10 Race ECU Line Flash". At that time, the RWHP output and top speed will be classified under article "Mad Dog Section WOW1.170.175" * Shoose *

This is what I find odd. I have the block off plates, exup delete, and reflash. I took mine to 150 last night but it didn't feel like she had anything left. I was basically laying on the tank as well. Not sure what's going on at this point. Anyone else have the shift light flashing at 94mph and up?

spartanadv, I found a new "running space" for good hard straight runs here in Coronado. It's here in San Diego called "The Silver Strip". I had complained to my perf mechanic that I was having a difficult time locating a "safe" place with enough real estate to open up my Roxie (my FZ1710 for the record) and really put her through the paces with her new 3 fundamental internal "organs" now firmly implanted. So he mentioned TSS. Man, when I got out there I couldn't believe the amount of straight as an arrow real estate, beautiful fresh flush asphalt and fairly isolated runs there. Anyway, there's about 3 straight runs covering more than enough ground (~2-3 miles) to fully let my Roxie take over the road. I was able to get her up to ~166 MPH at ~(90-95)% throttle - I never floor her. I could of pushed more, but at 166 MPH that's enough extreme speed, and it's more than enough for me to experience. I've only gone past 185 MPH before and that was on my 2012 GXSR1000. Say whatever you want. I know that the ODO on my Roxie is hardly anywhere as accurate as a Dynojet (I'd guess exaggerated). Plus, the best perf mechanics could care less about "top-speed". They always take measurements in percentages of gain or increase of Crank HP, RWHP and Torque. So that's it. I'm good. The horsepower on my Roxie is at superbike level, the torque is beyond my wildest expectations and at Ducati levels. Don't even take the statement I'm about to throw at you as a possible replacement for my Roxie - never gonna happen, she's with me for life. But, when I first re-entered this highly addictive sport recently (after a ~6 year hiatus, I wanted to ease back into riding somewhat slowly, if that's even possible) I went through the usual suspects of sportbikes before I realized that the FZ1710 was the outright winner. In my wildest dreams could I have not have ever imagine the ridiculous gain in RWHP, torque and top-speed by having one of the best perf mechanics I've ever known do his magic to my Roxie. So, at the end of the year I'm going to take the plunge into a new edition, the Ducati. Not sure at this time which one. But possibly the Ducati Monster 1200 R (hopefully the 2018) or something comparable. People, the fun never ends . . .

You on a FZ1710? If so, then you shouldn't be experiencing anything close to a head-shake or any wheel-wobble at 157 MPH. All your damping/stabilization is 100% mechanized. Otherwise you may have imbalanced/unbalanced (whichever contextual noun you prefer) sag between the front and rear shocks and/or conflicting tire pressures.

I may or may not have traveled upwards of 128..but the head shakes, buffeting, and vibrations are insane!

I just ordered a new windscreen. Once it comes in, I'll do some new runs to see the difference in speed.
