Overall, it is a GREAT bike! We won't talk about look, because this is subjective. However, I have a few (minor) gripes about this bike. I'm listing mines on the following post. Does anyone have the same gripes? different ones?
PS: I don't actually hate anything on this bike, more like wishful changes

- Scrolling through displays 1,2,3,4 is counterintuitive (for me) with the scroll wheel. At first it might seem like it makes sense to go from display 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 by scrolling up (ascending order). But I always, instinctively, scroll the opposite way. Probably because in the settings, they show 1 on top of 2 on top of 3 on top of 4 like this: 1 2 3 4 So I always want to scroll down to go from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4. Fix: I customized my displays in the opposite order so when scrolling down or up goes on the display I want (4,3,2,1)
- The scroll wheel is on the wrong side of the handlebar. It's hard to use the scroll wheel while riding since it's on the throttle side. It would have made more sense to have it on the left hand that does not move. Since the right hand controls the throttle, using the scroll wheel while riding will often affect throttle position which in turns, changes current speed. Fix: Activating CC when wanting to use the scroll wheel but it's not always doable. Or using the left hand on the right side of the handlebar to change the scroll wheel but it's not the most stable/safest.
- Scroll wheel push to confirm hard to use. Often times when I push on the scroll wheel to press "enter/confirm" it does not register, or it'll go up/down instead of registering a push. I've tried several different ways to push on it but I have yet to succeed at all times. Although I'm getting better at it, it's does not work 100% properly. Fix: more practice?
- Impossible to change modes while moving. In order to go from one mode to another, the bike has to be stopped. It is possible to change individually PWR, TCS, SCS as long as the throttle is depressed even if moving, but not the whole preset all together. Fix: can an ECU flash help with this?

I've seen YT reviews saying the scroll wheel is a pain to use. Also with the current gen bikes you can't change modes while riding either so that doesn't surprise me. I doubt an ECU flash will change that at all.

Scroll wheel are tricky. They are same way on R1Ms...matter of getting used to it. (Best luck when using them with thick gloves!)

It has clearly been designed to use it stopped and without gloves.

On my 2017 SP I can't change modes while riding, but I can change the power, suspension and TC while riding, using the selection buttons on the left switchblock. The throttle has to be closed for these to be available. In general I never change the overall mode, just the individual settings. I agree the scroll wheel would be better added to the left bar however.

I doubt an ECU flash will change that at all. I confirm the scroll wheel can be a pain on the 2022. It doesn't have well defined notches on the up/down scrolling and comparatively takes too much force to push it in. So it just scrolls up when pushing it in. According to the manual you can change modes while riding BUT it won't change if one of the parameters is being used i.e. acceleration, deceleration, braking etc. I am still trying to figure out when I can change it. The Mode on the display hollows out when you cant change it and fills white when you can. Thing I hate the most - MIRRORS

I hate the fact that they made the air scoops functional but only barely. I installed new flush mount turn signals and relocated the horn and found that only the bottom inch or so actually allows air through. I guess though it's better than the completely fake vents on the old bike. I like everyone else hate the scroll wheel. Seems backwards and I often find myself going into the main menu when I just want to reset my trip or fuel economy gauge, which has happened 5 times in 600 miles. Guess 33mpg is better than 30mpg.

Ill post my gripes.
The blue rims on the cyan pattern... I surfed around for a few weeks looking for the blacked out 10 and only a few stores had them and were a good hundred plus miles out from me. Jumped on the first 10 that came available and its my largest cosmetic gripe.
Finding a windscreen is next to impossible, perhaps due to it being a 22 and the aftermarket not catching up yet.
The dang seat.. its fairly comfortable for a plain stock seat, but the latching mechanism is just annoying as all hell. My KTM 1290 just swoops in and latches down like butter while this has to socket in and then slide at a different angle. On top of that, the storage underneath is next to nothing. I dont even feel right keeping my registration under the seat.
The center plate on the tank has two black plastic push in retaining pins. I removed the fairings around the tank in an attempt to vinyl wrap them and have dropped the black plastic piece in between the airbox and the frame itself. I ended up having to pull the fuel tank and airbox just to get the retaining pin and the allen key that fell in between there.
Kudos to Yamaha on making the fuel tank a dream to remove though, slid right off with little to no strain or work.

^ I had to laugh when I read you dropped the black piece between the airbag and frame. I like working on my bikes but without fail I'll drop something down into a crevice that is a pain to get to. I eventually got a reaching tool with magnet at end along with grabber scissors.

I love the 4.2” TFT meter and the 90° air valves come as standard equipment.

Next time for sure lol Absolutely...as soon as i saw release of 2022 MT-10, i installed 90° Bridgeport valves on both tires during tire swap on my R1M. My both MTs are still old valves and i kind of hate it specially right after filling R1M with 90°

I’ve gotta say, I filled my tires with air for the first time the other day and the 90° valves are really really convenient

Like someone else said, putting the seat on is a PITA and why bother, there's no room for anything under there. Waiting for the nicer weather to install the cat delete pipe and SC Project clone muffler along with the obligatory ECU flash.

So instead of starting a new thread, I’ll ask some of you….which gen and why? Not to start ragging on someone’s choice, rather what makes it more amenable to you. I had to sell my ‘20, and now have a chance to get one again, but I’m struggling with choosing which. Give me some reasons. Seems like a good thread to pose this question, but if it’s not, just erase it. Cheers
