Yamaha US has often been behind Yamaha EU.
I’m guessing it’ll be on the official American website after EICMA

I kinda like the looks but lets face it the mt-10 has always got alot of negativity for its looks, the CP4 motor is the selling point for me! Hoping the tech black is a gloss color cant tell from the pictures.

Well US bikes finally announced with the addition of an SP model at a whopping $16,899! www.yamahamotorsports.com/hyper-naked/models/mt-10-spThe SP also comes with a belly pan for some reason Exclusive New SP StylingAlong with the stripped-down, aggressive new look, the MT-10 SP adds an air of exclusivity with additional premium styling details and distinctive Liquid Metal/Raven color scheme signifying its status at the top of the Hyper Naked range. The MT-10 SP also boasts an attractive polished swingarm and exclusive color-matched lower fairing for a more purposeful, race-bred look. Advanced Öhlins® Semi-Active Suspension SystemThe new MT-10 SP is the first production motorcycle to be fitted with the Öhlins’ next generation electronically controlled suspension employing the latest spool valve damping. This state-of-the-art technology provides an even greater range of damping adjustments and a higher degree of response. Riders can choose between three semi-active damping modes (A-1, A-2, A-3), as well as three manual setting modes (M-1, M-2, M-3). When an automatic mode is selected the system adjusts rebound and compression damping continuously to match the current running conditions, ensuring the most appropriate settings are always in play. Manual modes allow precise electronic adjustment of compression and rebound damping for both the front fork and rear shock. Braided Steel Brake Lines StandardBraided steel brake lines are fitted as standard on the MT-10 SP, providing a high level of feel at the lever and more resistance to fade under track conditions and extreme temperatures. Six-Axis IMU with Rider AidsThe new MT-10 SP provides cutting-edge technological advancement with Yamaha’s state-of-the-art six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit. Originally developed for the YZF-R1, the IMU on the MT-10 SP has evolved into a smaller and lighter unit, featuring two sensors that measure three-axis angular velocity and three-axis acceleration, enabling a suite of rider aids including lean sensitive traction control, a Slide Control System (SCS), a front wheel Lift Control System (LIF), Engine Brake Management (EBM) and a Brake Control (BC) System with lean sensitive ABS. ‘High-Torque’ 998cc CP4 EngineThe new MT-10 SP is equipped with a refined version of the 998cc liquid-cooled CP4 crossplane engine derived from the race-ready YZF-R1 powerplant. Providing a linear, torque-rich delivery, this is the most potent and technologically advanced engine ever seen on a Yamaha Hyper Naked motorcycle. Fuel injection settings are optimized, and along with the intake and exhaust system design, lend the MT-10 SP a torquey, street-focused engine character. Acoustic Amplifier GrillesTo further enhance the crossplane CP4 engine’s distinctive soundtrack, the air box has three differing-length intake ducts tuned to resonate harmoniously at varying engine speeds to create a unique intake roar that enhances the overall riding experience. Sound is heightened further by Acoustic Amplifier Grilles positioned on the front left and right of the fuel tank, transmitting this tuned induction soundtrack directly to the rider, adding to the thrill when opening the throttle. Advanced Quick Shift System (QSS)An advanced up and down Quick Shift System (QSS) is standard on the new MT-10 SP. By enabling quick, clutchless shifting both up and down the gear box, this system makes full-on acceleration more exciting, downshifting faster and smoother, with less chassis disruption while changing gears. Premium 4.2-Inch Full-Color TFT DisplayThe MT-10 SP comes equipped with a premium full-color 4.2-inch TFT display, featuring a clear, easy to read screen and intuitive function navigation controlled by a scrolling menu switch on the right handlebar and a quick-select mode switch on the left handlebar. Advanced Ride-By-Wire Throttle with APSGAdvanced Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) system instantly calculates ideal throttle valve opening based on movement detected at the throttle grip. The new MT-10 SP also features an Accelerator Position Sensor Grip (APSG) which employs a spring, slider and gear mechanism to produce a natural throttle feel. The rider can also pre-select throttle response characteristics by using the PWR (Power delivery mode) switch to choose between four different power modes. As ugly as it is I'm still tempted to trade mine in for all the extra goodies. But at the same time it's a $5k hike over the last gen with the standard being only $1k more which IMO is worth it for all the goodies you get. At that price though you're in 1290R territory which has more HP, more torque and better MPG but no electronic Ohlins

The $1k price hike on the standard model does not seem too bad considering the upgrades you get but almost $17k for the SP is freaking stupid expensive!!!
I'll just keep my 17 that is already paid for and keep upgrading things as needed.

"Acoustic amplifier grilles?"
Jesus wept.
I have too much into my 2018 to take a trade in or sale loss just to get an SP. No thanks Yamaha.

I don't think the extra almost $3k extra for the SP is worth it for me personally. I'm likely going to be getting the base MT-10 - it has enough goodies for me.

Yea IMO one of the worst soundson sport bikes is intake noise. Literally every sportbike with a stock exhaust has that "brrrrr" intake noise and it sounds terrible

I wonder if/when Partzilla will have the front brake master cylinder assembly available for purchase and if it will retrofit onto 2017+ models?

Seriously…folks don’t realize what suspension does for a bike and what quality kit costs. Ordered my ‘22SP and I’m praying the ABS can be turned off completely. Time will tell!

I do understand quality suspension is not cheap and adds a lot to the bike when you are riding at 9+/10's on a track.
And if the standard suspension was garbage I'd be even more in favor of spending the money to upgrade. BUT The standard KYB suspension is already very good and even does a great job on track.
This is why I dont think paying $3k for it is worth the money.

Pull the fuse if you want to disable the ABS.

Pull the fuse if you want to disable the ABS. I have on my ‘19 but the best of the best on this forum aren’t sure it won’t screw with the new electronics…

This is why I dont think paying $3k for it is worth the money. I’m 285lbs and riding at 9/10ths. The KYB system on my ‘19 has been re-sprung and setup for my weight & riding. I turn off the TC and ABS has been disabled permanently…it’d be nice to get rid of ABS and actually use the TC as it’s no longer an archaic system, not to mention the Ohlins system. $3k isn’t breaking the bank, for sure. But I do agree the base MT-10 for ‘22 has fixed a lot of the things we griped about on this forum!

Soon as somebody retrofits the TFT display I'll be doing that. The rest isn't enough for me to get rid of my baby. you can retrofit it : new dash ,new wiring harness , new left and right switchgears
