Installed a Yamaha Quick Shift last week. WOW What a difference. So much fun. The harder you pull the throttle the smoother is the gear change. Even around town it is fun to use. Install is not hard at all. I highly recommend. upload image freegif hostingpic hostimagehosting

I put one on my bike too. It really is a bargain for what it does to the ride. Just click it and keep accelerating.
It would be nice to have downshift capabilities, but that is aftermarket, cost $800 and requires a ECU flash. For the $200 spent on the Yamaha part, I'm very happy with it.
NOTE. If you are in a 1st gear power wheelie when you shift to second, hold on tight.

I'm really considering this for my first mod on the bike. Only thing is that I do like the ability to feel and control the bike. I have a concern I would be desensitized to my inputs to the bike. Do you feel like you have a minor loss of feeling of the bike and control of the engine and throttle?

arcaos84, No there's no loss of feeling changing gears or otherwise. You can still use the clutch if want to. It is specially hand if you are hard accelerating. No need to let go of the handlebar to pull the clutch lever. I do not know if I'm going faster, but I can say it feels a lot faster than using the clutch. I'm thinking of an eco flash, need to ask Nels about the auto blip, if it will work with the quick shifter. I'll be adding a K&N air filter too. Love this bike. The R1 is bit serious.

I don't feel as if I lost any touch or control. It's just better. Not just for this bike, the concept is just better than the clutch-n-shift method. After an hour or so, it's second nature, but you still feel the throttle position, revs, and every other thing the bike tells you.

I just ordered the MT-10 version from Europe. It appears to be a straight install with no cutting.

I need to do some more research on what's needed. The suspension monitoring would not work. The SP version should be a one to one swap though.

I am gonna go with the FTECU quick shifter I think it's like $100 cheaper but you need your ecu flashed to use it.

Since my bike is flashed and Active tune from FTECU, I'm getting their QS/Auto blipper.

I ordered mine through the Yamaha dealer in Savannah. They show it on the US Yamaha site now www.shopyamaha.com/product/details/gytr-quick-shifter-kit?b=Street+Motorcycle&d=28|28&f=2017|307

yeah the day I bought my bike I walked over to the parts counter and ordered the QS & windscreen..I still have neither. Kinda irritated about that. Regarding the QS I've been racing with it on my zx10 for a few years and it comes standard on my H2...just to address some of the concerns above the mod is a 100% + with no drawbacks. I don't use it when riding easy, I use the clutch because if you are not on the throttle 100% it is likely the shift attempt will not change gears (a miss-shift) or worse you could hit a false neutral. 2 times you absolutely WILL want to use the QS: when your flat out in a speed run, just pin the throttle and bang the gears up (and yes this does make you/your bike faster), and the other time a skilled rider can utilize the QS is when you are still leaned over exiting a turn and you need to get into a higher gear but are not ready to straighten the bike up you can keep constant throttle and up-shift without upsetting the suspension, not the case if you have to chop throttle and pull in the clutch for a shift.
