looking to possibly get a 3/4 yoshimura exhaust but im worry about it being ear rippingly loud. I am also unsure about how to go about installing a new pipe and if i should just keep stock and try to find a midpipe instead of getting a muffler as well. i am looking to just get more power without sound.
Can someone point me in a direction to start looking ? im in canada for reference and its a bit far drawn to find parts for motorcycles it seems.

If you want more power you need to decat and tune - Issue is for the money you will get maybe 10HP if you are lucky - I would suggest get the tune and make it more rideable if money is the main consideration in what you are doing.

My 2017 came with the stock muffler and an Akra, with the standard cat. I thought I would enjoy more noise so I got a Leovince midpipe and took the cat out. Rode it like that for a couple of weeks and decided it was unpleasantly loud around town although it was no issue at open road speeds. I refitted the cat, the Akra provides a nice mellow burble, and then had it tuned using Woolich software. The bike gained something like 12hp but the throttle response and midrange feel much much better. For my money, the re-map was worth much more than any exhaust changes.

I did the LV decat with the LV Factory S muffler it started out a bit loud but seems to have mellowed now that it’s broke in with about 2.5k miles on it. I thinks it perfect. Not overly loud.
When I had my Graves slip on with the LV mid-pipe it was obnoxious loud, it is why I bought the LV Factory S pipe. Good match IMO. Tuned it at 2WDW flash. Not sure how much HP maybe 15 ponies and lightened the bike up….. let’s just say it’s a freaking beast now.
The Graves Slip-on with cat was decent but still kind of quiet. Heck of a lot better than the stock can. Deepened it a bit and woke up when you got on it. Didn’t do a tune with it but Graves does provide a flash for it if you buy their pipe as a slip on. Gives you about 10hp. Believe 2WDW can do that for ya as well.
Either way you go the bike is badass. If you looking for HP gains you need to have it flashed either way.

I'm looking at buying the Graves system with the long can. My Hindle is a little too loud and then with the baffle in it just sounds terrible. I'd like the EVR system but don't want to spend that much lol. I keep kicking myself for not getting that EVR that was for sale here last year. I got my R1 m/c, lines and blipper instead lol

Can’t tell ya how loud it would be. Look at dimensions of the Factory S and Yoshi. See the overall length of the pipe. The longer the pipe the less obnoxious it will be.

This might not make sense but:
My former FZ 07 had a full yoshi and i thought that was loud without a cat.
My current bike, mt10, has a decat austin racing exhaust and i cannot ride it without ear plugs. It might be just the austins or it might be any exhaust without a cat, but my bike will cause hearing damage 100% without earplugs.

My Hindle is pretty loud and it's an actual silencer. I'm looking at ditching it and either getting the Graves with the long can or the full Akra system with the long swooping can. Also just think - if it's that loud for you imagine what it's like for people in cars that you're riding next to in traffic

I also live in a quite neighborhood and love taking night rides, and vibrating houses isn't my style of respect. Yet, as i sit with the stock exhaust collecting dust, i find myself incapable of removing the Austin's. I have become someone i despise, i cant stop though.

I honestly wish I hadn't. I'd suggest going with a 2WDW tune that eliminates the EXUP system and you just wire the valve open. My Yosh 3/4 system so just way too loud. I kind of miss the days of longer stock exhaust cans. These short pipes are just unnecessarily loud. This is from a guy who owned a 2002 CBR1100XX with a full Yosh system and that bike sounded incredible without being obnoxiously loud.

Like Will said before should have went with the Graves long can setup. Long cans need to make a comeback IMO.

Yosh and Akra systems are usually not ear bleeding loud.
Honestly the stock can is just about perfect after removing the cat. Sounds great without blowing my ear drums.
I just saved the $$$ and kept the stock can, especially since its already so light.

Ok, so I have snuck around this tread for a long time while I was trying to figure out what exhaust was going to be too loud for me. My last bike was a cbr600rr with a Toce full system. It was loud but the worst part was it droned so bad at an ear-piercing volume on the highway. With my 2022 MT-10 I was determined to find something that not only sounded good but was "quieter". Most people will not believe me when I say I found exactly what I was looking for in the form of an Austin Racing exhaust nobody seems to buy. Ever since I heard a video of the AR on an MT-10 I wanted one but everyone says they are the loudest things known to man and that is not what I was looking for. I decided to take a chance and ordered the Austin Racing side exit (not belly exit) exhaust with the 200mm V3 can. I like everyone started the bike with just open headers and yes it was loud and I mean loud. At that point I was really worried that the 200mm can was not going to actually do anything but interestingly enough the can and the pipe itself are baffled. I'm sure that is why the belly exit ones are louder as there is no midpipe to baffle. Anyways upon first startup I was shocked at how "quiet" it was. I'm used to not being able to hear anything at idle with my old bike, this is completely different. I did install one of those cheap db apps just to get a general idea of how loud it was and a cold start maxes out at 81db on the app. I own a straight piped WRX and it reads 83db on a cold start using the same app. I'm sure the app is off a fair bit but it is still quiet by my standards. When I went on a ride, I decided not to wear ear plugs just to find out what it was like, and I found that they really are not needed anymore. The bike is quiet enough to not bother me at all which is a welcome change after wearing ear plugs while riding for the past 8 years. I have ridden with guys that have R1's with 3/4 exhausts and my exhaust is definitely much quieter than there's. We don't have many MT-10's around here so that was the closest I could get. Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience and let people know that not all Austin Racing exhaust have to be deafening, unless you want them to be. Here is a pic of what it looks like on the bike. Hopefully this will help someone in the future make a decision.
