Anything that removes the cat on a crossplane engine is going to be on the loud side.

Ok, so I have snuck around this tread for a long time while I was trying to figure out what exhaust was going to be too loud for me. My last bike was a cbr600rr with a Toce full system. It was loud but the worst part was it droned so bad at an ear-piercing volume on the highway. With my 2022 MT-10 I was determined to find something that not only sounded good but was "quieter". Most people will not believe me when I say I found exactly what I was looking for in the form of an Austin Racing exhaust nobody seems to buy. Ever since I heard a video of the AR on an MT-10 I wanted one but everyone says they are the loudest things known to man and that is not what I was looking for. I decided to take a chance and ordered the Austin Racing side exit (not belly exit) exhaust with the 200mm V3 can. I like everyone started the bike with just open headers and yes it was loud and I mean loud. At that point I was really worried that the 200mm can was not going to actually do anything but interestingly enough the can and the pipe itself are baffled. I'm sure that is why the belly exit ones are louder as there is no midpipe to baffle. Anyways upon first startup I was shocked at how "quiet" it was. I'm used to not being able to hear anything at idle with my old bike, this is completely different. I did install one of those cheap db apps just to get a general idea of how loud it was and a cold start maxes out at 81db on the app. I own a straight piped WRX and it reads 83db on a cold start using the same app. I'm sure the app is off a fair bit but it is still quiet by my standards. When I went on a ride, I decided not to wear ear plugs just to find out what it was like, and I found that they really are not needed anymore. The bike is quiet enough to not bother me at all which is a welcome change after wearing ear plugs while riding for the past 8 years. I have ridden with guys that have R1's with 3/4 exhausts and my exhaust is definitely much quieter than there's. We don't have many MT-10's around here so that was the closest I could get. Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience and let people know that not all Austin Racing exhaust have to be deafening, unless you want them to be. Here is a pic of what it looks like on the bike. Hopefully this will help someone in the future make a decision. I have searched for sound clips of the V3 but the only thing I have come across is an mt10 idling, no revs or anything. Thank you for a more detailed review as I was considering giving that a try whenever the dealership finally gets an mt10 in for me. If you make a sound clip of it please post it up, curious to hear if it still has that sweet deep tone of the other Austin models just a bit quieter.

It has a really deep tone. Video makes it sound very wooshy but it's not at all in person.

Did you consider the 250mm can for most quiet option? Also assuming your quiet ride is with dB killer in? With dB killer out is there much difference? Have you heard V3 200mm belly exit in person with dB killer in? I prefer the look of the belly exit, but not sure how much louder it really is than the equivalent side exit option.

So I didn't want a super long can so that is why I went with the 200mm. So far as belly exit, any muffler you get with the belly exit will be significantly louder. The reason being, is there is a baffle with fiberglass inserted into the center section of the pipe. That section isn't there on the belly exit so it will be loud. Also I inserted the baffle once and it made very little difference in over all noise. It did however make it sound weird so I leave it out.

I found this very helpful and was looking for the same thing... sound good without being obnoxious. I love Akra, but probably would have been way too loud. I have this exact same AR 200mm V3 on order. Will update when it arrives and I've tried it out. TYVM!!!

In case this helps anyone else.... Here's the GP3 Belly-Exit System.
The can ripped off at the track, so I'm tuned for open mid-pipe now.
It sounds amazing, but ear plugs are a MUST. The bike always gets POSITIVE attention when I go by.
Here's some random clips I have.

I think you've got it backwards lol

Looking at finally sorting the exhaust on mine and with the limited choices for titanium link pipes in Australia I may as well spend the coin on an AR system. Did you also get a tune to go along with it?

I got my AR V3 200mm put on this spring and ECU 2WDW tuned and am very pleased with everything. I found the sound with dB killer installed to be perfect, but a little too loud and boomy for me without it.
