Ah - good question! My program actually only looks the base standard version; I'm not so interested in the SP personally. I can definitely make some tweaks to look for the SP version though. Seems the main difference with the SP for 22 is just the Ohlins. On the previous gen it was the TFT LCD, IMU, etc but even the std MT for 22 has all that now.

Guys, and gals I'm getting so bummed that mine has not came in yet. Hopefully before winter hits.

I went to a dealership today in Belleville NJ, Motorcycle Mall. They have a (BASE, NOT SP) MT-10. I went in ready to buy, hard limit of 17k OTD.
They wanted 19k OTD.
Delivery/Freight was listed as around $1,600. I mentioned "Yamaha has this listed as around $800, so why is this 1,600?" they replied: "Going to be totally honest, this also includes markup"
Setup+prep was listed as ~$1,400 - 1,600 (I should have taken a picture) I mentioned "1600? What goes into prep? Put gas in it...." They replied: "The retorque bolts and do a test ride"
I said I would buy right now for 17k (but already knew it was over). They said there's nothing they can do... Shook hands and left.
Can some others share their experiences with getting an OTD quote? Bento in California was able to get theirs for ~17,050... I'm wondering if my dream bike is really going to be this difficult to get my hands on

Bike was listed as 13k left dealership paying just over 14.2k which included setup and freight.

that really sucks and unfortunately kinda expected it.
Ridenow in Peoria AZ had one, I contacted them and told them I was a serious buyer. They texted me back, they were really excited and asked me to put a deposit on it. I told them I would if they would tell me what's their OTD price. They never bothered replying... Probably had a crazy mark up on it
I'm still waiting to get a call from the dealership where I put a deposit but I'm afraid they'll mark it up. Anything over 16k OTD and i'll wait until next year or whenever it gets better. And it still seems crazy to me to pay 16k for a base MT10

I got mine in Northern California Bay Area for 17300ish OTD. Taxes are high around here too, so I'd be surprised if they are more expensive outside of California. There is a dealership around here that marks up their R1s by around 3500, so I'm gonna guess they will end up marking up their MT10s when they get them as well, but I didn't get mine from there. Northern California inventory has been looking better so I expect availability to get better in short time everywhere else too, but I could be totally wrong.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting yours. California is always the most expensive in everything, really sucks living here sometimes. And the LA people, I feel sorry for them. Almost up to 10 % in sales tax!!!!

I'm wondering if my dream bike is really going to be this difficult to get my hands on $800 markup they tack onto the delivery and then bump the prep up to $1600 from like $300 (seems to be the norm). LOL I would have walked too. that's silly. That's over $2k in markup.

Prep is bullshit even at a few hundred dollars. They're supposed to do suspension setup and I don't know of any dealerships that do that for someone that buys a new bike. Everything covered in prep would be covered in first service.
My last few bikes including the FZ10 were slightly used just to avoid this bullshit. And you usually get a break on the taxes too.

Literally all they do for the MT is install the mirrors, hook up the battery, put gas in it, check the oil and tires pressures and then run it to check for leaks and make sure all the lights work. It's like 1/2 hour at most. Hell the batteries usually come pre-filled and charged from the factory now so there usually isn't any need to wait to fill/charge the battery anymore. So an hour's charge to uncrate it and do the PDI is more than reasonable and with shop rates being $100/hr+ now a couple hundred isn't far off. Some other bikes require more assembly like installing the front wheel and handlebars though so they just charge a flat fee and lose on those bikes but make up for it on bikes like the MT
