I am in the market for the new 2022 mt-10 and i have contacted three dealers with different results.I live in central NY and my local dealer, who have been good to deal with, are not sure yet of availability and said they will get back to me soon. Also, they are holding off on pre- orders until a yamaha rep gets in touch with them. The other two i contacted by phone, one said come on in and put $500 down and we can get you one no prob!!hmmm... The other which is a good size dealer and seem to be very straight forward, told me that yamaha has allotted them no new mt-10's so they will be getting none even on pre order. Hope it changes as spring comes but it doesn't look good......

Chip shortage. It floors me that not just motorcycle companies but even worse car companies are still announcing and holding launches for all the new models knowing good and well they have next to no inventory to send to dealers. "Get excited for new product" but you can't find it anywhere.

I got excited about it too, and would love to get my hands on a new one to replace my 2017, but in reality these will be rare this year, like any new model vehicle out out there. I guess I'll keep one I got for now.

This is also a big concern of mine. My local dealership said that they are getting ONE MT-10 in raven black in stock. At this time there is no confirmed shipping date, but they did confirm they placed the order for it.
Now my worry is that they are going to charge some ridiculous fees, or go over MSRP due to demand... I hope not.

Hopefully will raise the used value market since I am considering selling.

I just called my dealership last night. They were allocated ONE MT-10! They said that they have a shipping date of end of May 2022... I'm not sure if that's the time it leaves Japan, or arrives at their location.
I'm going in two weeks to get an out the door quote... I'll share my results!

All the documentation on Yamaha's site says don't expect the std MT-10 till March, SP until May... still betting there'll be a delay after that with the new IMU upgrades, tfts, and all... more chips, more waits...

Is anyone seeing older models on showroom floors? I have three Yamaha dealers all within an hour of me. Aside from mine, a 2017 leftover I bought back in January of 2020 I haven't seen an MT-10 at any of them. Some 9's and a few 3's as well as the odd 7 but not another 10 anywhere.

I just got back from my dealer. At this time, they are not allowing me to secure pricing/buy in advice/or even place a deposit. Once they have a VIN from Yamaha, then they will. Anyway - see below. This is pretty much what I was expecting. If anyone else is able to get an itemized out the door, I would be interested to hear! This is in Northern New Jersey.

Also some dealers add $400.00 more to the final price if you don't finance in house and want to pay cash.

The dealer prep fee seems high these days, doesn’t the mt-10 come assembled besides wheels and maybe fluid?

The dealer prep fee seems high these days, doesn’t the mt-10 come assembled besides wheels and maybe fluid? I completely agree - it's a pretty outrageous fee just for them to unbolt it from a crate, put a battery in it, and fill it with gas. I'm hoping that others on the forum are also able to share their OTD quotes so I can get an idea around the country of what the differences might be. My thought is... Since this is literally the only MT-10 that they are "allowed" to purchase from Yamaha, they are pretty desperate for a markup. And honestly, my thought is - if I'm not going to pay it, there's a guy in a few months who will.

For what it’s worth I bought my 2021 in October for $12,500 OTD .. Wow! Crazy difference! By any chance did you purchase/register the bike in a state without sales tax? The 2021 and 2022 have a 1k MSRP difference between the two Sales tax is approx 1k But still, that leaves 2k extra in other fees+misc things that you were able to get around. Nice!
