there is ZERO adjustment on the throttle body side for throttle play adjustment, just thought I would let everyone know that. That said I didn't know that until I snapped the threading on it, just fell apart from me tightening it too much.
Now, does anyone know the part # for the throttle cable? It seems as if its impossible to find

Think there just different colors and California models with emissions. The throttle cables will all be the same on all year models

2nd that, its just the different colors and difference between the california and 49 state models. The throttle assembly isn't different on any of those.

thanks guys. feel so stupid.. after such a successful spark plug change last night I figured I would adjust the throttle play more so at the throttle body side to give me more room for adjustment up top. As it was perfect the little black boot didn't cover the entire nut anymore so I wanted to fix that sadly you can't, you just tighten the throttle body side snug and all the adjustment is up top, I was thinking that was the case as I was tightening and loosing over and over until I went too tight and snap #!@$%!% oh well, maybe I'll get the throttle tamer thing while I'm at it

I feel like this is the twilight zone. How can you not have a part for a common bike? This sucks! I'm royal fucked

I could be down for months guys. Does anyone know of another solution here? is there a cross reference part, like the 2012-2015 R1 use the same throttle cable system? Here is what broke on it. I broke that bolt, the nut is fine but what the nut goes onto. It seems no one knows when they will get this part. I have tried everywhere, really pissed right now that a simple part on a not uncommon bike cannot be had.

isn't that such bs! you think they would update their crap! many sites show this, it's all crap. I've called everywhere and they say "manufacture back order, sometime in Oct"
I seriously am thinking of selling this shit, over a stupid throttle cable. for shits I looked up a few other bikes and they all have them in stock

Hey. Just a thought. Many parts are shared with other bikes like the R1 etc. At the end of the day it’s just a specific length we are talking about, nothing really special other than that. You have the old one....measure the length overall and see if you can get data on other models? There is adjustment so even as close as 1/4”-3/8” I’m guessing would still be ok. I do agree though...shouldn’t be this hard to replace.

Maybe an aftermarket company could put one together for you?

You might be able to replace the broken piece. Cut a slit on it and remove it. Get a bicycle brake cable adjuster that has a slot in it and put in place of the original. I have done this before on other bikes. If you can find a good bicycle shop they should have what you need.

Try partshotline.ca A few items to enter and it will search Canada wide...maybe you get lucky here and they ship.... I was in need of a front rim for Gsxr600 track bike and it was only forum I had any luck with...(shipped from Alberta to Ontario)

Hey OP, what exactly you broke? The threaded rod? If yes, I bet it's the same thing not only on Yamaha bikes, but probably all others. You should be able to get it individually somewhere; just find the pitch, internal and external diameters, and length. And you wouldn't need to replace anything else. If you broke the nut, which is attached to the cable, then it's a problem. But I'd say at least the R1s should have the same cables/parts. Good luck brother.

the nut is fine, its the threaded part/bolt attached to the cable that broke. I have been trying to call this company all day www.venhillusa.com/I would overnight them my cable and put another overnight return slip for them, if they make cable theres no way they can't fix this. if anyone knows any junked fz10's please let me know

It should be the easiest part to replace. Don't send the entire cable; just remove the treaded part. Or send them the broken piece; that's all anybody needs. Oh, and the length, so just remove the other threaded rod and measure it. Or measure both broken pieces, but both should be of the same length. You should definitely find that piece somewhere man. Good luck.
