you cannot remove the threaded part, that is part of the cable, its completely stuck on there because the end ball on the cable prevents it from coming off

That's why I said cut a slit in it so it can come off the side. When I worked at the bike shop in the 80's we used to unsolder them and solder new ends on. Was common practice in the late 70's and 80's. Guess the actual trade of repair is gone. Nothing but parts changes left.

When I was 18-20 I worked at a dealership and still remember the "tranny" room. These guys would literally rebuild the transmissions, it was awesome work and paid well. Today, I'll bet there is no tranny room and they simply replace the entire trans.

So that venhill usa company called me, and what do you know they don't manufacture either. WTF I thought Trump said they were coming back to the USA.
IN anycase they send the work to some plant in England then they send it back to them. They agreed to do the cable for like 55 bucks, but it will take some time, couple weeks or more. Whatever its either that or junk the bike (cannot believe I cannot get such a simple part)
Thanks guys for the help, still if anyone comes across something let me know, because this could still be a fail

Sorry for the bad news about the threaded part being part of the cable. Glad you found a source. I guess the moral of the story is DO NOT MESS with the throttle cable. Geez. Hard to believe such a stupid part has your bike benched. Just a couple more weeks.

yea, thanks! I was blown away in shock when I found out no one had this part. I was sure it wasn't a big deal when it broke.
FWIW Yamaha wouldn't help a bit, I tried escalating as much as possible but they do nothing but refer you to motorcycle shops. I see people mention "dealers" on these forums, is there really such a thing? Is there a Yamaha dealer somewhere in this country? Everything I know is just motorcycle shops that sell everything.

called partzilla on Monday because the website status changed for inventory and they said its not in stock but possibly at Yamaha.
For 30 bucks I said screw it and ordered it, whoever delivers first I'll install. Just got an email, my throttle cable will be here today from partzilla. lol
oh well, I'll probably sell the aftermarket one, unless its obvious better material .

I have not had the tank or fairings off yet so don’t know about under. Should remain as straight as possible though. i have different bars but routing should be the same. image hosting

she's back up and running!! thanks guys!
That was a close one, really thought I was 2 wheels out for a couple months.
Too bad I bought that specialized one from England lol.
Maybe I'll sell it, who knows.
The Tamer throttle is unbelievable! from G2, it feels so smooth now, well that and those horrible dirty plugs didn't help.

Do you have an ECU flash with the throttle tamer?
I might pick one up!

I'm still in shock that this isn't factory, I mean Yamaha must have tested this product, why wouldn't they think this is better than the twitchiness the stock one has. Do they think people will think it has more torque ? maybe but still if anyone feels the throttle is a little twitchy, spend the 75 bucks and get the G2 tamer throttle tube, it really changed the entire bike.
Right out the garage I was shifting and throttling like a pro, cannot wait until I get used to this

Could you please post a link to the G2 tamer? I need to change the grips to ProGrips, so might be the right time to change that too. I didn't have a complaint with it before, but with broken pavement, the surging gets really annoying, even when anchoring my index and middle fingers with the brake lever. Want to do some research on how much it changes the throttle throughtout the travel. I don't have an issue with throttle control, or blipping the throttle, so need to make sure I'd like it. And when it gets choppy, I solved the issue by just engaging cruise control, so in a way already have a solution to the problem. And yes, I use 'STD' mode, which is the mildest. If you use any of the more aggressive modes, try STD first. That might solve your issue .

surging is still there at certain RPMS's I'm guessing its my tune, they said its normal being there is no cat and the graves exhaust will have some surging. The g2 ergonomics is what I got www.g2ergo.com/shop/g2-street-tamer-throttle-tube-yamaha/I also put the progrips on when I put the tamer on
