Here's a review of the G2 Throttle Tamer along with some thoughts on similar products by Motion Pro and Graves. First, after contacting G2 about compatibility, sending them a few pics and measurements and installing the one they recommended , it definitely fits the MT10. The basic idea is the cam shape is modified from round to eccentric so the cable movement at the beginning portion of throttle rotation is slower. I tested it out for a few rides and it definitely helps - you'll be able to tell the difference. Back to the shape of the cam - it results in the last portion of throttle movement being a little quicker, which felt fine - no adverse effects. It cost $79. The throttle package that I received came with a throttle tube and a removable cam that can be exchanged for other shapes to vary the responsiveness. The cam that comes standard for the MT 10 is model 400, which slows the cable movement the most and was recommended. You can also buy a throttle with all the cams (I think there are 3or 4) if you want to experiment or just call them and buy a different size later. One of the nice features of a removable cam is that you don't have to change the grip, which is the toughest part of replacing the throttle tube. Speaking of grips, I changed my grips at the same time and went with the Driven Grippy Grips. I wanted to cut down on the vibration (it does) and also increase the grip size (for comfort and because that should also increase the control.) Unfortunately, contrary to another review that I read the size of the grip doesn't feel any larger -- if anyone has a recommendation for a larger grip please let me know. Last, a few comments on Motion Pro and Graves that are observations that I gleaned from their web sites and other reviews and may not be accurate. The Motion Pro addresses the cable movement by using a round cam of a smaller diameter - that means you need more rotation for the same throttle movement. They replace the cable guides which may or may not require different cables -- I called them, but no one that I spoke with could tell me if they had a model that fit the MT 10 or if different cables were necessary. I tried to contact another person there, but my call and email were unanswered. The Graves uses a cam similar to G2, but one of the reviews said it was necessary to rout out the inside of the stock cable guides so the cam wouldn't rub or bind -- not an issue with the G2. My conclusion - the G2 fits, works good, costs less and is easiest to install - an easy choice for me. Terry Oliver Wendell Holmes La Grisette

I chose the G2 showing more control so will see how that is. Not sure if that is what you received?

I chose the G2 showing more control so will see how that is. Not sure if that is what you received? They come in several different cam sizes -- the one with the most slowing is the 400, which was the recommended one for our bike. One option was to buy all the different cams and experiment, but I went with the recommended model -- It definitely smoothed out the throttle - what did you think?

G2 throttle tamer transformed my 2020 Yamaha MT-10 USA edition.
I installed it last week and today rode for 100 miles of twisty 2 and 1 lane roads in the San Francisco Bay Area mountains. Throttle response in first and second gear is smooth. Snatches are gone. So much more progressive response in slow speed uphill hairpins, yet you can get to full throttle with about the same wrist twist degree.
Other than a new exhaust and a full ecu reflash which voids your warranty, I'd go with the G2. It is 15 minutes to install. It will transform your MT-10. I recommend it as my #2 upgrade. My #1 is to replace the brake pads. I went with EBC HH, but I'm sure the Brembo or SBS are just as good.
Going further you could put a new exhaust and reflash. You could also replace the brake lines and master cylinder. But that's a long and expensive project. I found the G2 to totally change the characteristic of the USA spec 2020 MT-10 to make it so rider friendly that you can focus on those lovely twisty back country roads without focusing so much attention on throttle smoothness and whether you would get a surge or lag. Highly recommended for those who ride an MT-10 on twisty roads. I am an ex racer, and I love predictable throttle control. This is a simple solution.

I gotta get one. After my ride this weekend with some quick friends, that snatchiness was by far the most annoying crap ever in turns.

I'm definitely getting one. The 2WDW flash helped smooth out the throttle but the on/off point is still REALLY snatchy. It makes cornering a hair-raising experience

I would have to assume the Tamer (Y400).

My success was with the standard G2 tamer. 400 cam. G2 Street Tamer Throttle Tube - Yamaha - MT-10 ('18 - '20) www.g2ergo.com/shop/g2-street-tamer-throttle-tube-yamaha/I also bought a new grip so I didn't have to peel it off the stock one. Domino Strada "Replica" Grips - Black Looks almost identical to the stock Yamaha MT-10 grip. You may have to trim the outside flange (2mm) to avoid any friction with the handlebar weight. I glued it on with Loctite GO2 glue. My experience is that this throttle tamer really make smooth and fast riding so much easier on twisties. No more worry about jerky throttle at low openings and tight corners and switchbacks. YMMV Let me know if you experience similar results.

I also put a bit of grease on the throttle linkage where the cables connect to the throttle. The grease is there on the stock throttle, so I just put some similar biking grease on the connectors.
I took pictures on my iPhone as I took the original throttle apart. This is helpful when you reassemble to just be 100% sure you are getting the cables set the correct way.
There is a detent on the cable housing and handlebar to locate it accurately, so that makes re-assembly super easy. I put a tiny bit of loctite threat locker blue on the two throttle cable housing bolts. When you take it apart you will notice that very little torque is used on these, especially since the throttle cable housing is plastic.
This is such an easy install and so effective in my case.

It's sad how a few inexpensive modifications can make for longer term happier ownership versus trading it in or selling it if there isn't a way to rectify issues that make you dislike a motorcycle. Gotta love Euro compliance.

I did the tamer also it made a huge difference after the flash. My bike was even more snatchy with so much more fueling throughout the range especially in the mid the gains there was amazing but side effect scary in a turn when your pushing it and hit some bumps. I like engine braking if you keep that in the flash that's also makes it worse with fuel cut off probably the main reason for the snatch in the first place IMO. So now with the tamer very happy with fueling its like how it was before the flash with the tamer but much smoother power delivery.
It should be a package deal flash and tamer same time I did reuse my grip off oem twist you can only oder the stock grip with the oem housing attached already . A little wd40 compressed air came right off. I like the stock grip under my puppies .

So is there any where to order this from that offers any advantage over ordering direct?

Not sure what your asking and sorry I just saw it but I ordered mine direct from the manufacturer people have asked wich ratio and I forget but it's the cam that is slower from the bottom then catches up past half throttle . That is the whole reason for getting in the first place I would think.
It's well worth the $80 it really changed the behavior of the bike it feels like I've lost power off the start then pulls hard half to WOT works perfect with a tune also recommended with out a tune . Takes away alot of jumpy snatchy nervous throttle inputs these bikes have from on off fueling IMO I think should be the first thing done to the 10 .

I had my bike flashed by Vcyclenut. I know the throttle is abrupt but I love it. It's like having a motocross bike on the street. You just have to limit the size of the jumps.
