[Copy and pasted from another thread that got off topic]
Ride home from dealer was 250 miles of highway so i did the first oil change right away. Probably shouldnt have. Annd probably shouldn't have done full synthetic. Seem to have oil seeping from oil pan gasket. Also, i over filled it a little. I tried to syphon some out and the hose wouldnt reach the oil so i tried to be reeeal careful with the drain bolt and ended up dumping $80 worth of good oil into a dirty container so i couldnt re-use it. 4.1 quarts later i still managed to overfill it somehow even though i was being so careful not too. It looked good in the garage after a few minutes of idling but after actually riding it the oil level is a touch high. Just barely at the top of the glass. And today i put my hand over the exaust for a second after a cold start and it seemed to possibly leave an oily residue on my hand, maybe it was condensation i dont know. Seemed to not do it when it got good and hot. im considering going back to a conventional oil for a few hundred miles incase my rings arent run in yet and allowing my full synth stuff to slip through. And if my gasket is seeping because it wasnt mated yet and not ready for full sythetic, will i be okay using the same gasket after i switch back to conventional or is it ruined and in need of replacement?

For context, the original thread can be found here: fz10.org/thread/1945/light-keeps-coming-back-startupAs for reply, it sounds like you're overthinking this. If you're oil pan is leaking, synthetic oil is not the issue. Especially when it heats up. You likely just need to torque the bolts down. Additionally, you're still under warranty and can get this all fixed and documented by the dealer. So in 13 months when this issue comes back and you're off warranty, you can make a claim with Yamaha that this work should still be covered. As for shnthetic vs non synthetic, I've read once you go synthetic you shouldn't go back to regular oil. Additionally, our bike calls for full synthetic oil only. So anything against technically can void your warranty. So when you do decide to go into the dealer, if they notice it, they can decide not to cover it. I read through your whole other post. I think you're overthinking a lot of stuff regarding this bike.

I did full synthetic oil on my first oil change with no issues whatsoever, Engine is quiet and does not use any oil.

Update. I had ordered a low-tourque tq wrench and the yamaha oil filter tool a while back and both finally came today. My oil filter was only on with 6-7 ft pounds with the recommended tq being 12 ft pounds. Got that bitch torqued to spec and will monitor for seepage. Hopefully the problem is solved.
