Glad the sliders took most of the damage. I use woodcraft myself.

Hmmm... Lots cheaper than a dented fuel tank and other pieces. Sorry that happened, and glad the damage wasn’t worse.
So, what happened, if you don’t mind sharing. I/we might learn from your mistake/bad luck. I’ve never had frame sliders, but sometimes contemplate it.

I always park between cars or in corners... This time like in the past I parked about 5 feet from a car, next to a 'No Parking from Here to Corner'.. The driver simply was careless, no mistake on my part. By the way the car who hit my bike was parked where the gray car is in the picture.

Ugh, that’s so disappointing. Did they (the person who hit it and knocked it over) find you, or leave a note?
I would be sad.

Looks like the frame sliders did their job, although too bad they destroyed themselves in the process. It is one of those things you hope you never have to use. I use SW-Motech frame and engine sliders. It's all a crapshoot.

If my bike could travel at the speed of light, would my headlights work?

Yes they definitely should, I’m using Woodcraft sliders currently. They seem sturdier than Yamaha’s, however I can’t confirm personally. Here is a YouTube video of a guy crashing with similar Woodcraft sliders on. Obviously this was much worst than someone knocking your bike over but the sliders definitely saved his bike. The SW-Motechs seem to be a similar setup and look a lot better too. Good luck with them, hopefully you’ll never need them to do their job again!

Well, geez. I think I’m about sold on spending a bit of money on frame/parts sliders. Sh!t happens, right? Even if it’s completeky outside of our control (like, some a-hole knocks my bike over while I’m at work).

That 'a right....I just noticed today that there were some scuffs on the exhaust cover as well!

Glad the sliders took most of the damage. I use woodcraft myself. Which ones do you have? Do you have a link? I purchased all my crash protection items from one of the forum vendors StoltecMoto. You can find all the frame/axle sliders and case covers here, www.stoltecmoto.com/product-category/yamaha/fz-10/
