any idea regarding when yamaha will make an announcement and when the 2018s will actually start hitting dealerships? I am looking at 17s, but I assume the price will drop on new old stock when the 18s come in.

Maybe next month. I think the big Motorcycle show is coming up soon to display all the makes and models for 2018 in Ohio I think

2018 lineup is starting to get posted. Still only 17s in the naked and sport categories but most others are shown. Aside from the new bagger its all BNG.

Today (9/21) is the first day of AIMExpo so all models should be revealed today unless Yamaha has changed the release dates for the Sport and Hyper Naked lines.

This pic was taken today at the aimexpo and posted to instagram. Looks like there just carrying over the 2017's into 2018. Was hoping to see some new colors. I really hope there still gunna release some more colors for 2018.

If they are showing the 2017 model at AIMExpo as the carryover model it probably confirms that sales aren't all that hot, but that has been the general concensus when talking to dealers. These things aren't exactly flying out the door. The FZ-09 was refreshed last year so I wouldn't expect much change there, so maybe there won't be any changes to the Hyper Naked segment this year. The motorcycle market is hurting, not as many people coming into the sport and when they do they are a fickle lot, they don't know what they like or want.

If so guess I won't be getting me a fz10 then. Do not like the colors they used for 2017. Gunna suck if that's what there doing.

Was playing around with the Japanese Yamaha website today and found a page announcing 'The 2nd MT', and below the pic was an event date of 30/9/17 in Japan, so it looks like the 2018 hyper naked bikes might be introduced at the end of the month. The pic shows some different iterations of the MT line, so perhaps it will be expanded.

Yeah I was at the aimexpo and that was the only 10 there. I'm guessing they are sticking with the same color schemes because they had the new r1 and r1s colors. Speaking of which they looked pretty awesome in my opinion. And also they are making the r1m again, maybe they never stopped making it. Don't really follow the r1 line much but it was the first I had seen since the 15 model.

The XSR700 is new for the US market this year Yamaha's selection of standards is very very good.

The XSR700 is new for the US market this year Yamaha's selection of standards is very very good. I love the style of the standards coming out on the market lately, but I can't stomach the way the tanks are designed. The knee endentions are too short and the sharp forward edge always finds the inside of my knee.. And I'm only 5'10, these tanks are designed for tiny GP jockies it seems. I believe the engineers are focused too much on looks with these standards.

I'm amazed that they haven't made any announcement regarding the 2018 FZ-10 (or a re-badged MT-10) yet. People were talking about riding their new '17s in September of last year, so those are almost 14 months old.

I am in the market, but holding out to see if the 18's offer anything I want over the 17's. I'm hoping for a blue one.
