I'm amazed that they haven't made any announcement regarding the 2018 FZ-10 (or a re-badged MT-10) yet. People were talking about riding their new '17s in September of last year, so those are almost 14 months old. I think they may reveal the 18's at Eicma. I guess we will have to wait and see. I am in the market, but holding out to see if the 18's offer anything I want over the 17's. I'm hoping for a blue one. Think ur right. We should know the 18 lineup next Tuesday. Think ur going to see a blue one also and gray one. There already registered with CARB as 2018 MT10’s. I just watched a video from the Tokyo motor show that’s going on right now and they have the blue one on display.

I don't care what colors they go with, but I hope they ditch the neon wheels. They look cool, but holy hell what a pain to keep clean.

Just got back from a 135 mile ride and didn't have to do a thing to the wheels, clean as a whistle. Maybe if you ride on dusty, gravel roads or in the wet it might be more of a problem, but on dry roads, eezy peezy.

I’ve just been quickly wiping mine down with a damp microfiber towel once a week. And, I am loving those wheels more and more. They really do make the machine look fun, and they make me feel young. Haha.

Yamaha's EICMA private press conference is tomorrow at 9PM CET (4PM EST). It looks like the entire FZ/MT line may have big news ahead between a wholesale platform shift from the FZ badge to the MT badge, as well as an FZ-09 SP with a suspension that isn't dog crap. I wouldn't think that many major changes are in stock for the FZ-10 platform given that it's barely a year old, but depending on what they do change i'll buy new old stock 17 or an 18 this winter.
Hopefully they've sorted all the headlight-cracking bugs, and maybe they've addressed the engine ticking (alhtough that was a prominent feature on my 08 R6, so if it's still around I'm guessing it's not going anywhere). I'd really like a full color dash, but that's most likely out of the question. I usually don't care about colors too much, but my last bike was a raven so I want something less black, and I'm personally still not sold on the neon wheels. I do feel like powder-coating the hi viz wheels while leaving bright yellow accents has a lot of cool design potential, but I'd like to keep my paint stock.
