Has anyone hollowed out the converter? I dont mind the look of the converter, and like the exup valve. Im going to get the yamaha yosh slip on when I get money. Also there would be no need to get programmed or other part not to set codes. Any thoughts, idea's, warranty coverage, or old converter laying around?

Why would you want to do this? The only performance impact of the catalytic converter is the weight. Most of the weight is in the metal, not the absorption material. If you were to remove the absorption material, your bike is going to pop and backfire on deceleration, and you won't have gained any performance advantage. All that it is doing is absorbing and burning excess fuel in the exhaust gas. It's not restricting the exhaust other than the routing of the flow (which won't change unless you eliminate the entire converter.)

I've got a converter off my 10. PM me if you want it. $50 + shipping?
Because its a sealed unit and the two inlets don't line up with the outlet it is probably going to be pretty tough to gut it unless you can split the case open and weld it back together after you're done. By the time you do all that you might as well get a cheaper stainless decat pipe (around $160 for a MIVV) and keep your factory cat converter if you're worried about future warranty claims.

Main reason I was going to do it would be sound. Not sure if it would pop any more or less then a decat kit? I would still have the exhaust valve that will close on decel and not be as load at low rpm. It won't get as hot either.

Did this back in the day on my 06 R1 but that was a much simpler task. It was a straight shot so a big screw driver and a mallet was all that was needed. LOL
This cat will take much more work.
