Hey all, I'm replacing my rear fender today with a tail tidy kit. I obviously have to remove the rear turn signals. I got as far as getting the flat plate off from the base of the turn signal but at this point I'm not sure what else to do. Do I just have to force the turn signal out or do I actually have to cut shit?
I took out the screw in the light but it doesn't seem to do anything except separate the turn signal from the base. I need the base to reinstall on new kit.
I've already cracked one of the stems of the turn signals so I figured I'd ask here before going any further.

Grab and pull straight back from front to rear. They will 'pop' out.

What he said, except I think it should be from back to front, as the "split" in the rubber piece is in the back, so it has the the flexibility there.
Here's a reference in the Vagabond install video...

I had trouble with this as well. From what I remember, the stem is a flexible rubber part and there is a hard plastic plate with two tabs that fit into slots at the base of the stem. I removed that plastic plate from the end of the stem with a screwdriver and then the turn signals slid out easily.

Getting them off was relatively easy, but getting them on the Yosh eliminator was a real effort. Heat and a little petroleum jelly helped a lot, but there was still a lot of cursing. The rubber boots are way too stiff.

Yanking them out was the fun part. Install was a pita! I seriously though I was going to break them.
