So with my savings from the Helmets I purchased I wanted a premium pair of Gauntlet gloves. (I sound like my wife with her 75th new purse) Truth be told I've wanted new gloves for a while, but my butt tightens like a 18 year old in prison when I look at the prices of premium gloves. So while I was trying on helmets this weekend I went to Cycle Gear to abuse their brick and mortar inventory and they had one pair of premium gloves on closeout. They were hidden on the new model rack at the back and didn't have the price marked. But, the sales person pointed out the real cost to me. (rare for sales person at Cycle Gear to point anything out) Dainese Druids ST (Druid D1 Long is this years model) www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-druids-st-glovesI scored these for $129.00 ($219.99 regular price) They were immediately comfortable for my hand (LG in US sizes and 9 in European). Since I am up a size in Dianese I went with the XL (9.5 sized). I have long fingers so there were no spacing issues. These gloves are entry level track and overkill for the street (which is what I wanted). Air flow is surprisingly 'ok' for a full gauntlet leather glove. The backs are cow and the palms are goat. The protection bits are a coated carbon fiber. There is more than enough protection for any incident you would survive. For the one you don't survive your hands will look great in the casket. If there is one draw back, it's that there is no device finger for iPhones and alike. I have the coating to fix this so it's not an issue for me. In the color black they don't look too over the top.

dambikeracer You tend to get what you pay for with gear. I promise if you go down in those padded mittens they won't work amazingly. I run Racer High Racers most of the time. They're expensive ($220!) but they last around 3 seasons, 15-18Kmi per season. For the use and comfort I get out of them I think they're a great value. www.racerglovesusa.com/high-racer-glove/This season, for crap weather and getting dirty I got a pair of Fly Racing FL2 gloves. I had never heard of the brand but the features and price point were right. I've only worn them here and there for 2 months but have gone down in them a number of times on the dual sport and they're holding up great. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/fly-fl2-glovesOutside of closeouts, around $90 is where I think you start to see decent gloves.

Riders Discount was closing out the Scorpion Clutch gloves for $109 retail was around $250, I bought a pair last year and have been pleased with them, they offer everything most better track gloves do the use stingray for scaphoid sliders, kangaroo palms and are well padded, haven't road tested them but they look like they will provide good protection. Right now is a good time to buy gear since many manufacturers are releasing their new gear.
I always try to buy a decent pair of gloves, you never know how sensitive your finger are until you lose one, I lost about .25" of my left index finger, it still has numb nerve endings in it and that was 20 years ago, my injury was work related not from motorcycles but any time you crash or fall, it is a natural reaction to put your hands out. The advent of scaphoid sliders in gloves reduces the chance of wrist fracture. Good gear may not alleviate all injuries especially a street crash but ifit can reduce them or save your hide or even your life, it is worth the investment.

Dambikeracer: please do yourself a favor, and return those gloves. Spend the money on some premium gloves. I know it hurts to spend the money, but they'll last for years so the actual cost per season is very low.
I have a set of Held gloves that I've had for...6+ years. Take care of your gloves, and they'll take care of you.

Dambikeracer: please do yourself a favor, and return those gloves. Spend the money on some premium gloves. I know it hurts to spend the money, but they'll last for years so the actual cost per season is very low. Take care of your gloves, and they'll take care of you. It hurts worse to not spend the money. I had a good pair of wrist length Cortech gloves with all the sliders and knuckle protection. Never really paid it much mind until the unspoken occurred. Glove got pinched between the bar and the asphalt at highway speeds and within a millisecond it was ripped off. Garden gloves, hipster chopper gloves, "summer" gloves, they're all gonna leave you sorry you didn't spend just a bit more and get some proper double closure gauntlets that won't come off until you take them off. The old adage is there's two kinds of riders: The ones who've gone down and the ones who are gonna. Not preaching, just offering some reality to people cutting corners on protection that is far cheaper than hospital bills, new bike costs, and months of misery! Ask me how I know. (the hard way)

Cortech Impulse RR for $130 are one of the best bang for your buck gloves with the most protection in it's pricepoint. Been rocking them for 3 seasons and just now have one small seam letting go, but that's an easy $10 at a seamstress to stitch it back up. It was a bit more (LOTS) to get the stuff above stitched back up... Double gauntlet closure with wrist closure, TPU sliders, knuckle protection, near instant break in, true fit. Can't go wrong! www.ridersdiscount.com/cortech-mens-impulse-rr-leather-gloves-2014-198952
