I just paid $590 on mine, also in TX. But even in the same city (El Paso, in my case), just changing zip codes can mean higher rates, like it just happened to me too. Moved to a rental after selling my house, while the new one is being built, and they increased my car insurance by about 20%; in the same freaking city. Anyway, Progressive was the cheapest by far, and I have a perfect driving record (no accidents, tickets, etc), and house and cars with progressive. I also got the highest liability limits, medical expenses, maxed out uninsured/underinsured coverage, and basically all other options, so maybe that had to do a little with increasing the premium, but still thought it was a bit high. Anyway, the only reason for insurance to drop, and I'll probably be on the same boat, is after the 1st year. I was without a bike for 3 years, and when you don't have current insurance, they always hit you with higher rates. NEVER had an insurance rate drop for any other reason, even though vehicles get older, and are worth less. Aholes. Ha ha.
