I feel like the shift throw on the 10 is pretty long. I'd like to shorten the throw by extending the arm which moves the shift rod further from its pivot point. I've got Driven rearsets but the OEM ones have a similarly short arm on the shifter. You can see it on the PDF installation instructions below. www.drivenracing.com/sites/default/files/instructions/DRP-725-2017%20Yamaha%20FZ-10-Instructions_1.pdfIt doesn't look like there's enough room to drill a 2nd hole on this arm to attach a piece of stock to. Does anyone have any suggestions for a bolt-on solution? I'm considering ordering a Driven shifter for the R6. The shifter itself appears to be close in length and the arm past the pivot is at least twice as long. The other option is to find a shorter shift arm for the upper side but I am not sure which Yamaha model would work here. If anyone has other Yamaha bikes in their garage and can compare the shift arm length to the FZ10 that'd be great. The splines on the shaft should be the same across various models. The downside to this option is that shortening the arm would increase the force required to shift.

So this is what I came up with after staring at it for a bit. I can use the hole for the reverse shift and the hole for the original shift linkage to hold a section of aluminum flat stock securely. Both of these holes are tapped but I also secure the bolt on the back with a nut. The flat bar extends about an inch beyond the original linkage hole. This gets me shorter movement of the pedal at the cost of less leverage (more effort). Ride test whenever it's done raining around here (Friday). If I like it I think I will make this again with a thicker piece of flat bar.

It worked! The shift throw is much shorter now. Moving the linkage attachment out an inch made a big difference. I'm going to buy 1/4" thick stock and make a permanent version. This one is 1/8". I'm also going to move the linkage attachment back towards the pivot about 1/4". The shift throw is a bit too short and I notice the loss in leverage. I'm overall very happy with this.

latte I did refabricate it with thicker aluminum stock but wasn't happy with the way the hole spacing turned out so I didn't install that. I kept it the way it is in the pic in the first post. miyong76 that shifter is pretty slick, but you have to be careful swapping in parts from an R1. The rearset and shifter position is definitely different between R1 and FZ10. I think the only thing that may need to change to make it work is the length of the linkage rod.

miyong76 that looks great! What rearsets do you have? They have a lot of adjustability.
