Some of you may follow Motovloggers and Yammie Noob is a fairly well know vlogger. He hit a Porsche head on a few days ago. It looks to be his fault as he crossed the yellow line on a curve while trying to pass. (per him and what's been posted, although it may not be his fault). He flew easily 30 ft in the air. It appears he has a few broken bones plus the usual bumps and bruises. He will be ok per posts. His Daytona (second one) is no bueno. This isn't a commentary on anyone's riding style. It can happen to anyone at anytime. Be be careful out there.    |

Yeah, Ive been reading about this guy. He is not a "squid" yet. But he probably will be soon.
You see, the word squid is misused now days.
Paramedics who started relating the word Squid to motorcycles. After responding to so many motorcycle accidents in the late 80's /Early 90's, they noticed that brain matter and internal organs spilled upon the tarmac looked like squid.
Sadly, young idiots now wear the "squid" title proudly, not even knowing what it really means.
But Paramedics and State Troopers all over the country know what it means.
This Motovlogger tries to show off while recording and wrecks often. He wrecked his last Daytona in a similar fashion.

Yeah, this is an odd story. Most riders who destroy a m/c like that, and do that amount of damage to another vehicle, don't walk away from it. Lots of yakking about it online but no real confirmation of what really happened. Supposedly there was a video of it but it has been pulled down. There is a post supposedly from Yammi Noob who says he was driving recklessly and made a mistake, that was dated Apr. 11th. We'll have to wait and see what emerges as more facts become known, but something just doesn't ring right to me. He won't have too many opportunities to ride and crash like before the grim reaper comes a callin'. I am seeing a trend where many of these riders who post videos are more keen to post daring video of their riding rather than showing what their bike can do in normal riding. You can often hear them narrating their actions and it comes clear they have a limited knowledge of a bike, like calling the fork tubes, 'pipes'. Judging by the photos posted the car is clearly in it's own lane, which would indicate the bike wasn't. I hate vloggers so I won't comment beyond that. Other than the first picture makes me think, "weeeeeeeee".

riding the requires lazer sharp precision and attention. I cant imagine trying to ride the twisties at a high rate of speed and also trying to think of things to say and deliver said speech, all at the same time.
Moto Vlogging is dangerous. So many ways to die already in this dangerous two wheeled passion of ours.

When I ride I want no distractions....I put earplugs in, helmet on and concentrate on the ride. I know many people listen to tunes while riding but I think that is a distraction to the task at hand. I have Sirius/XM in my 3 cars and always have it on, but when on the bike it's me and the bike.

I've seen the video these pics were clipped from.
While I don't like to comment on riders reason for, the bike hit the car head on in the cars lane. I don't know if the rider choose to pass on a curve, cooked the curve or had a bike issue. Based on what's been posted and said by the rider it appears to be 'pass on a curve'. What happened will come out in the end.
Main thing is what Cruzin said.

I feel bad for the GT3 guy. Perfectly good car ruined by a reckless rider. He (the Porsche owner) came out of it with a few airbag burns and a few minor cuts. There is a picture floating around of Porsche logo from the steering wheel burned on this arm. The car saved his life. Yammie is lucky he's not facing manslaughter charges. I'm sure there will be a nice settlement for him and a shiny new replacement Porsche. |
