Got nailed by this big bastard yesterday after picking my bike up from its rotor repair. Son of a bitch splattered and went all over me and my helmet as well.  pic bbcode |

In German, they're called Schmetterling. Somehow that fits your incident better than the more romantic Spanish name. By the way, the German term was also used in reference to more effeminate males, before political correctness, of course.

How do all those Harley guys handle riding with no helmets or face shields. I come home from a ride with my helmet and shield just covered in big bugs. A bird hit my helmet once, damn near took me off the bike doing 60 mph.

rgr that. had my jacket slightly unzipped one hot day and an Asian hornet (look it up, they're YUGE) went down my sleeve and stung me a couple time before I could pull over and get my jacket off!
