What's up guys (and gals?) My name is Andrew and I'm joining the forum in anticipation of grabbing an FZ-10 within the next couple of months. My family and I are in between houses at the moment so I can't get any new loans per the underwriter of our lending company. My riding history; After taking a MSF Rider Safety course in October of 2011 to get my motorcycle license I ended up buying a new GSX-R 600 in the spring of 2002 and put 14,000 miles on it in the first year. I loved that bike! My friend had a TL1000R and I really liked the sound of the V-Twin so in the spring of 2003 I ended up trading my GSX-R for the TL1000R. I had that bike for 5 years and sold it in December of 2008 for various reasons, but I do miss that bike as I have a lot of good memories from it. Fast forward to 2016 and my wife and I celebrated our twelve year wedding anniversary and she told me I should get another motorcycle since she knew I was getting that itch again and really wanted to get back into riding. I convinced myself that I wanted to try the Harley 'thing' as I didn't really want another Super Sport. I ended up getting a 2015 Street Bob and after about six months I sold it for a couple of reasons. One, we decided to buy a single family home about two months after I bought the bike and I realized the money from the bike would help with expenses etc. and two, I realized that I did not enjoy riding the Harley beyond the fact I was riding a bike at all. It really looked cool, but that was it. It was not fun or fast. No adrenaline was to be had on that thing. I will never buy a HD again! So I've been obsessively researching motorcycles and I've narrowed it down to two. The FZ-10 or the Street Triple 765. I'll most likely go with the FZ-10 given how close in price they are and I think the FZ-10 is an incredible 'do everything' bike given it's size, power and various features. I really like that it comes standard with cruise control and has that 12v power adapter as well (hey, it's the little things!) Anyway, I've been on and off this forum without registering during my research and I'm fairly certain this is the bike I will end up buying after we move into the new house. So that's a little about me. I look forward to interacting with the group here and look even more forward to the bike once I pick one up. I'll be bugging people with questions in the mean time.

Welcome. It's a great bike. I've had 6 , all Yamaha's and this is the best yet. Great power, handles fantastic, and the sound will make you giggle. Happy riding.

Welcome. What part of the world do you live in?
One of the many bikes I've ridden was the street triple. I even have a desktop model that my wife gave me knowing how much I loved the look. Riding one changed that instantly. It was painfully loud and the vibrations were awful. With its high rpm range, the higher you went, the buzzier it got. The riding position felt cramped as well.
I had an FZ-09 which buried the Triumph in so many ways. The trade up to the FZ-10 was a huge jump up from the -09. Both great bikes. The -10 is a true super naked that is simply amazing. The engine is the icing on the cake. The crossplane triple on the -09 is fantastic and the crossplane four is the next level up from that. If you end up financially unable to swing the -10, don't overlook the -09. If would be a great choice to pave the way to your -10.
Good luck with your future endeavor.

I too had a Tiller, sold it when I got the -10 (told myself no more bikes, so had to sell one to get one). I miss the exhaust tone, but not the riding position. The decatted -10 is definitely a suitable replacement for the v-twin sound! My Tiller (I do miss it):

That's interesting about the Street Triple. I wonder how much has changed for this new version that just got released? I'm in love with that display that is on the R and RS.

That looks awesome in white!
Definitely a niche bike, mine always got a lot of attention when out and about. Rarely saw another in the wild.
Attention from the cops too - got pulled over on that bike a few times. They usually let me go with a warning when they saw that I wasn't a kid.

Been in the Harley thing myself before I got that Fz-10! A lower back problem is the reason I had to sold my Fat boy lo. But when I jumped on the -10, what a world of difference. Speed, handling, brake... It is a very fun motorcycle. I chose it among BMW S1000R and Ducati monster 1200.
