Alright, so here's the deal. Traded in the FZ-07 for a FZ-10. Sounds good, but still has that pissed off scooter kinda sound. What I was wondering was should I save up and go for a full system and a tune? Or should I go with a decat system and a tune? I could even get a link pipe and a slip-on which will do pretty much the same thing as a decat system. I'm not going to be racing competitively. I might do track days but that's iffy.

Well a link pipe + slip-on is a de-cat system. I would just say go with this option instead of a full system including an exhaust header swap. Saves a good bit of money and I highly doubt you will notice big gains from a full system + tune vs. 3/4 system + tune. The biggest weight loss is from the catalytic converter removal. Probably won't save any weight from switching to aftermarket headers unless you are getting a full titanium system.

Was kinda just double checking to make sure lol. And I could get a full system in theory if I went with like a Yoshimura Alpha 3/4 in Ti-Ti-Cf. Or I may just get a AR or SC Project silencer and mate it with like their link pipe of someone else's link pipe that's Ti. Since the headers are already Ti. We'll see what happens. Have to figure out what sound I want first.

That's what I'm planning on doing. I have the Austin Racing titanium can + mid pipe so with R1 header, I'll have a full titanium system.

If I wanted to have a uniform color I'd have to chose the Yoshi works stainless. And brand new R1 titanium headers are like almost $800. I could just get a titanium link pipe and can and then just get the headers later on. I kinda like the color of the stock headers though too. Lots of decisions lol.

I ended up fitting a Yoshi Alpha 3/4 Ti/Cf system for the 2015+ R1 to my FZ10. I scored a almost new R1 titanium header on eBay for $150 and it weighs about 2lbs less than the steel one on the 10. Don't buy this part new! Just be patient and check eBay occasionally.
As a comparison, the cost difference between the Yoshi Ti 3/4 system I got and a Yoshi Ti full system was $600. Not worth it IMO.

I just got my Akrapovic 3/4 Titanium System yesterday.
I may or may not replace headers down the road if I can find a cheap R1 set.

I've been looking around at what exhausts are available and I think I've settled on the Two Bros. If I can save up the money quick enough I might get an Austin Racing. But that depends on what happens in the next two weeks or so. And I'd like to have an Akro, but for a little more I can get a full AR system in titanium.

Is anyone using an SP engineering decat pipe I ordered one and plan on getting an ecu flash with it. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this brand yet or not!

They're supposed to be pretty good for the price. I just wish they made a real short exhaust like the delkevic I had on my FZ-07. Little 8 inch can lit it up lol.

Thanks for the reply after reading much on the forums I think im just going to go with it and see how it works out. At a later time I will probably upgrade to a better pipe probably Austin Racing or SC Project CR-T! after the flash I will try to post a few videos as well as pictures to let everyone know how the SP engineering worked out.

So will the fz10 decat bolt right up to R1 headers? Seems to me the they are slightly different and you would either need an fz10 decat for fz10 header or R1 decat for R1 header? Just curious and trying to understand before I pull the trigger on something.

Since most r1 set ups won't bolt right on unless you drill a different hole for the actual exhaust can mount. Other than that they've been pretty easy going on as far as r1 exhaust set ups on a fz-10.
