I'm seriously considering buying an FZ10 but I have one concern. The Mrs booty is a little bigger than the passenger seat. Has anyone used the butty buddy or airhawk pillion pads and if so how did it work out?

Has your wife sat on the back of the bike with you on it? The rear pegs are pretty high up. Did she find it comfortable?

No she hasn't sat on an FZ10 yet. I hear you about the pegs. But I'll bet they can be lowered a little. I used Buell pegs with the drop in them on my Hayabusa so I would think they would also work on the FZ10.

I have ridden with my girlfriend a few times. She has said the seat is a little small and that the pegs are high but she really hasn't complained much about it. She's 5'8. I would just have her sit on the back with you on it first then go from there. I have only done maybe half hour to 45 minute rides with her on the back. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was her knees were almost into my arm pits.

None of these sport bikes are really made for a passenger other than for (very) short distances. The FZ-10 is a small (relatively speaking) bike for a 1000cc machine, much smaller than the older design Hayabusa. That is just how technology operates, less bulk/weight with more features and more performance. My view would be that the younger you are the more you will find the seating acceptable, as you get older the cramped position would be pretty tiresome pretty fast. But only you two can decide your tolerance. I would get the missus down to the dealer and have both of you sit on the FZ and see how it fits. You may or may not be able to lower the pegs, but that won't fix the booty factor.

One thing to also note is the maximum payload for the fz10 is pretty low. <400 lbs. So if you are any decent size, like myself, carrying an adult pillion is almost out of the question.
