You know you wanted to try it! The stock exhaust is way to quiet for my taste. I'm used to a thunderheader on a Harley. Surprisingly taking off the muffer at idle and crusing speeds proves the tone is just right. Give it full throttle and cars will know your around. I love the growl from the cross plane.
Time to make a sexy exhaust tip.

I did exactly the same thing Monday, after my first oil change. It definitely sounds angrier. On the road, especially when the engine is under load, it'll probably wake everyone up.
The titanium pipe looks and sounds good to me, so it went back on. But just for giggles, I may take it back off to experiment. I wonder if a db killer from one of the aftermarket companies could be fitted into the open pipe, just behind the exup valve? IIRC, Delkevic's baffle is too long, but GPR or Two Brothers' could probably be fitted with room to spare.

You'd have to find a way to get a fastener through to it. I'd bet it would tame the sound of the stock muffler with a decat.
