Forgive my ignorance. What are these?

So I pre apologize, I'm somewhat of a squib when it comes to mechanics. That and I've only had the bike for a couple days.
Anyway, I was doing a walk around of my bike and noticed the two Grey tubes coming down the engine case near the shifter. Had a slight panic attack, as they looked like they were a loop and were sliced. After some thought and inspection I decided they are probably supposed to be this way.

Still don't know what they are though. Some kind of ventilation or overflow tube? I'll attempt to attach some photos but still figuring that whole process out.
