I'm planning on getting an exhaust for my bike. Currently debating between Austin Racing and Arrow. My only worry is that a cat-delete system will be way too loud and have me pulled over by the popo within seconds. I could go with a slip-on first and get a mid-pipe afterwards as a safe option but I would like to take advantage of getting a full tune and saving weight by eliminating the cat. Should I grow a pair and get a cat-delete system off the bat or go slip-on first? Also, I would like some opinions on Austin Racing vs Arrow exhaust. They both look pretty good to me which is why I can't decide.

What advantage would be gained past weight for you with cat removal vs slip on.

What advantage would be gained past weight for you with cat removal vs slip on. Just wicked sound and cleaner look with the cat gone. Maybe I'm not really thinking properly. I'm thinking if I get pulled over for exceesive noise, with a 2 piece system I can take the midpipe off and go slip on only. With a one piece exhaust like the arrow or austin racing, I don't have that choice. But I can probably just put the stock exhaust back on, pass inspection then just put the pipe back on? Answered my own question lol

Answered my own question lol I have fount that most of the slip on have around the same sound. (less tin and more low end burble that screams under power) A little louder without baffles. It comes down to what you want it to look like. I have also found that the complete exhaust removal does increase the volume level of the exhaust over a slip on. Both remove a large amount of weight, with the full removing more. What I don't see is a HUGE increase in HQ/TQ with a full exhaust removal and tune over a slip on and tune. For the extra few ponies it doesn't justify the cost unless there is a weight reduction and track propose for it. That's just my 2 cents.

I'm having the same debate about what exhaust option to get. At the moment I have settled on slip-on only since it makes more sense to me. Either Scorpion, Akrapovic, or Yoshimura. If the choice is between Arrow and Austin Racing, I would go with the Austin Racing. It looks better IMO.
