That's just a really good and objective review. Nice video shots too.
I'd like to see someone like Nick Ienatsch take all four of them around Lauguna Seca or Willow Springs to see which comes out on top.

For the everyday street rider the Yamaha offers the, as they put it, "jack of alll trades" experience.

I love the fz 10. I'm surprised they didn't include the BMW s1000r

The funny thing is that most of us will never go head to head with these bikes or the Superduke R or the S1000RR. When it does happen, the chances of even skill levels is low. The closest we'll get to comparing these bikes is spec sheets, which may or may not translate to overall performance; and journalistic opinion.
Our own impression and experience is the valuable information. After 2000 miles in 5 weeks, my impression is .....fast, smooth, quick-handling, comfortable, soulful and fun. Exactly what I look for in a bike.

yeah, concur with baron. every time I watch these videos of these jokers in SoCal, it just kills me. the roads, the weather... how sweet would it be to ride every day, all year long?! (although, maybe not so much, this year, with the weather they've had) so jealous...

These shootouts are good reading, but for me the ultimate bottom line is RELIABILITY. I notice EBR is closing its doors again so who wants to buy that sort of headache. Aprilia is great but my closest dealer is 85 miles away, and how good is their reliability. Ditto for the Triumph, long way to the dealer but reliability would be better. The Yamaha has always been a very reliable brand for me, never letting me down, and my dealer is 22 miles away. So for peace of mind I went with another Yamaha. These guys in So Cal have access to all the parts and service they need, and they just walk away or call for a new bike if they have mechanical issues. Us out here in the heartland have to live with reality, when we roll our machines out of our garages and hit the button I want it to start and run properly. Yamaha does that for me.

Not to mention the worldwide service network if you're ever in need on a trip away from home.
