Nice writeup. Swapping rides one day wth a friends Tuono V4 reinforced the comment about difference in horsepower. I couldn't feel any difference between the two. Maybe on a track day, but not on the street. Both outstanding bikes, but I'm happy I got the -10.

The scariest part of owning an Aprilia is the horrible dealer network in the states. Few places sell them and even fewer of those are truly capable of working on them. Then there is getting the parts if needed. LOL

One thing these reviews never take into account is the reliability and maintenance costs of the bike. I'll give up the capabilities at the extreme for easy and cheap maintenance any day of the week on a street bike. The review was pretty spot on.

I have an excellent Aprilia dealer 5 miles from my house. They are very good at what they do. The one thing they can't control is access to parts.
The Cycle World review is spot on. I'm surprised they don't talk about the US ECU restrictions though. Nels should write to them.

It's a shame that Yamaha neutered the FZ-10 with throttle restrictions. I'd love to read some of these reviews after they've ridden one that makes the proper amount of power. The bike running out of steam in the top end of the rev range seems to be the only real complaint, and when it's unrestricted and making 150whp, that problem is solved and it's a much closer comparison to the SuperDuke or S1000R.

Or Yamaha is planing an increased price upgrade in MY 17/18 and they've left themselves reasons for price increase past color display.

Probably lawyers causing problems, but who knows. The fix is in though. Flash going in next week. I was going to do it last week, but they asked us to hold off sending ECU's because of holiday shipping. Hopefully I'll have the beast unleashed by the end of next week.
