Earlier today decided to do an oil change, oil was going everywhere and I didn’t have a funnel. So I decide to make one with a water bottle. 3 quarts in everything’s perfect.. 4th quart.. i swear I see something float into the oil, but I wasn’t sure. I started to second guess myself.. I put the puzzle pieces of the water bottle 7-11 wrapper and there’s a piece the size of a dime missing. I’m sure it’s In the engine case. 😅 I took the clutch plate clover off to try to fish it out, but I can’t even see it man. Any tips is it worth trying to flush it out with the oil over and over through the drain plug or will I just fuck it more? Should I get an endoscope and try to claw it out. I’m honestly about to bring it to Yamaha and just let the pros do it cause I’m ima break some shit.. some mfs are telling me just to run it?!?? I’m feeling like I should get it out I mean cmon a 2$ water to destroy a 10k bike plz 😭😭😭

I would think you're fine. If it was me, I probably wouldn't have even done as much as you did. Should get caught in the oil filter or the mesh screen in the oil pan. Otherwise, I can't see something so small affecting the engine. I guess in theory it could cover the mesh screen in the oil pan and start to starve oil but that seems like a perfect storm scenario. I think more likely that's going to end up disentegrsting in the oil and you'll see pieces of it coming out in your next oil change.
And get yourself a damn funnel. Lol. One of those long neck ones is worth the price.

It most likely flowed down into the oil pan with the oil you were pouring in. I would drain the fresh oil into a new/clean container and I bet you'll see it come out in that oil. If not, you're just going to have to run it. It will probably get caught in the oil pickup screen or the oil filter where it will eventually break down from engine oil temperatures. Those wrappers are not meant for high temps, so it'll just disintegrate. It's not hard enough (like a piece of metal) to destroy your engine.

I was gonna do that, but now I'm gonna borrow my buddies endoscope with a claw on it and see if i can fish it out or see it.. because I don't wanna try to flush it through and put it into a worse spot. This lowkey driving me mad usually I'm a fuckin send it type dude, but this is my love and my whole summer right here. Right as I was putting it back together to send it actually the Yamaha specialist called me back and highly suggested I try to fish it out because it could catch in a journal. Will update tomorrow.. I never thought I'd make one of these insane random bad unlucky things to happen. I hope someone can get help from this someday LOL |

I got the endoscope... couldn't see shitttttt. Then I drained the oil... Nothing. Again. Nothing. 8 times later.. i say let me overfill it so i went and got 4 more quarts and put about 8 quarts in her and fully flushed it out and it fucking worked....
NOTE TO SELF: USE A AUTOMECHANIC OIL FUNNEL AND NOT A WATER BOTTLE. OR... JUST DONT BE DUMB NEXT TIME.
