Couple weeks ago I was reading motorcycle related news and came across the new Fazer 10 which means MT with a fairing similar to BMW XR1000 which I almost bought but after road test decided to get MT.
Does anyone knows more or is it fake news?
To be honest I would love if new MT would have higher fairing and better wind protection.

Everything I could find on the Internet a out a new style MT 10 Fazer was just renditions. There's one awfully stupid video on YouTube that interlaces videos of the MT 10 and one of these rendered images photoshopped onto a background pretty poorly claiming that the MT 10 Fazer was revealed with a stupid AI voiceover. I don't even want to link it because the video doesn't deserve the views and any possible monitization.
As far as the topic at hand, the next few years are going to be very interesting for all vehicles, particularly motorcycles. Emissions and regulations are seriously going to affect the industry as a whole over the next 5-10 years so I think it's very hard to predict this type of stuff. I don't think the MT 10 will exist in 5 years. Certainly not in its current style.
I'm getting a bit off topic but the car industry is getting scary, particularly here in California. Besides the outright path we are on to ban gas vehicles, everything is going to subscription based services. GPS tracking on your vehicle that insurance companies can access. A thing that beeps when you go 10 mph over the speed limit (real legislation that's being considered). Custom closed operating systems of infotainment centers that won't allow you any customization of the massive screens they are sticking into these cars to get rid of manual controls.
I think the glory days might be behind us.

Yamaha announcing that they won't be furthering production of the R1 because of emissions was really a huge bummer.

I was just telling someone yesterday that I hope to keep my 2002 Tundra for the rest of my life. I don't want any of this overpriced crap packed full of unnecessary features.

It won't happen. First gen MT went from 2016-2021. Probably another couple years before a 10 refresh, if there even is one since they discontinued the R1 is some markets.

The R1 will be discontinued in Europe because it won't be certified for the latest emission standards. The issue is not that the emission standards got lower, but rather that the manufacturer has to certify that things like the cat will continue to perform over x0000kms of use. Apparently there is a lot of expensive testing required to demonstrate that, and Yamaha clearly feel the lost future sales don't offset that.

+1 I think next axe from Yamaha will be MT-10 when its homologation gets close to expiry same what is happening with R1. Their main focus will be development of new generation CP3 (899CC) model. We have recently seen MT-09 new Gen just in 2 years time period. I am very sure they will keep MT-10 Gen-2 till road legal by just changing color, cowling here and there (same what happened with R1 since 2015...). I really wish Yamaha proves all this wrong but dreaming is no longer allowed due to hype of emissions and what not..
