Looking to get tune while they are on special and I want to see what I'm getting myself into. ECU removal o2 sensor unplug from stock Thanks in advance. I'm interested in this too. The ECU is easy. I stumbled on it while changing a fuse (long story.) The left-side arrow shaped cover below the fake air scoop comes off with just a few screws. The ECU can be seen and it's attachment is fairly obvious. A video would be nice though. The left-side o2 sensor is also easily seen just above the shifter. The right side is up and under the fairing and I can't see it yet. I will be removing my ECU next week. If a video isn't up, I'll make one.

Yeah, ECU is so easy. Nels or Pat can walk you thru o-2 when you call them.
Then, be the please first to make a vid or take pics, and this will end up one of the busiest threads on the Forum for years

I'll do it. I'm waiting until I leave town for business though. I'll be removing my ECU on January 2nd.

The left side O2 plug is in the rubber boot just behind the metal bracket above the front sprocket cover. The right side wire can be seen between the frame & engine just above the swingarm pivot and can be accessed with a hooked pick or similar item (thanks Pat, 2WDW). There should be enough wire to allow unscrewing the O2 sensors without unplugging them first.
Cheers,
MrHix

Thanks for that. I was just looking to find plugs and didn't know the size.
I think that's what this thread is about. Some of us can easily do the work, but we're cautious of the process. I know I had concerns about the sequence of events in the Process.
This is what I plan to follow after piecing together the information from Nels and from other posts (plus a caution of my own.)
ECU and o2 sensor removal 1. Remove seat. 2. Disconnect ground cable from battery. (No one has said to, but it seems appropriate to me.) 3. Remove the small left side fairing just below the fake air scoop. 4. Unplug the connectors from the ECU. 5. Slide the ECU from its keepers, package it safely and send it to 2WDW. 6. Protect the ECU connectors by wrapping them in a baggie and rubber band or zip tie. 7. Disconnect o2 sensors. Left side just above the front sprocket. Right side between frame and engine. Follow the cable from the sensor. NOTE. If other mods affected by the flash are being done, do them now (Block-off plates, etc.) 8. Protect the open connectors on the bike harnesses. I use self adhering silicone tape for these types of things. 9. Remove the sensors from the bike (may require cutting of some zip ties.) 10. Install 12mm x 1.25 plugs into the sensor ports on the exhaust. Vance & Hines Exhaust O2 Sensor Port Plug Kit - 12Mm X 1.25 16935 serve this purpose, but many others are available.
ECU install after flash. 1. Check all the pins on ECU and mating connectors. 2. Plug the ECU connectors to the ECU. 3. Secure the ECU into its retention features. 4. Connect the ground cable to the battery. 5. Turn on the ignition and allow the bike to run through its processes. 5.1. If all is normal, start the bike and check for system warnings. 5.2. Check that the o2 harnesses are secure and not loose to vibrate or contact hot surfaces. 6. If all checks out, install the left side fairing. 7. Install the seat. 8. Test ride.
