I ordered a comfort seat from the Yamaha dealer (my employer) in the 3rd week of August, 23. I was originally told to expect it Nov 4, then Jan 6, then Feb 20 something. Yesterday I decided to ask parts when the "new" expected delivery date was and after searching multiple fields for my order, it could not be located. He then decided to search "shipped items" (basically out of desperation) and found it! So after about 5 months of waiting it arrived today.
I left it at work as I had no way of getting it home on the back of my ST1300 but wifey will pick it up tomorrow. Which is only proper, as she is the one that wanted it. The stock seat is fine for me but the wife and kids complained of sore bottoms. The seat looks nice, I prefer the newer style cosmetically and it's quite a bit thicker than the stock one. I always here about the long wait times for Yamaha parts from co-workers and now I know why. A few months back I ordered the belly pan from the SP model and I thought that wait was bad ( at the time), around 10 weeks.

Yamaha is always like that with new parts it seems! If it’s not in immediate stock, expect a year. In know I’m not patient enough to wait.
Before I moved, I used the stock seat 8 hours a day no problem. For 6 months, 10k miles. Then I moved, and I just couldn’t do 1 hour! Comfort seat was worth it.
But when I ride with the wife, out comes the Corbin seat with the backrest.

I considered doing the same thing but I get a discount from work on Yamaha products and I prefer the new style seat over the previous one. Also, the seat is mostly for the wife and kids comfort not mine, so no rush. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet
