Anyone have the numbers on Yami's extended warranty. Currently own an 2017 FZ-10. About to possibly get a 2023 MT-10. I have all the numbers I'd like to see on a bill of sale such as Freight/Assembly etc...but I'm out of touch with the cost of the extended warranty. I've seen some on Ebay but they are not applicable to California vehicles.
Any numbers on the extended warranty would be much appreciated.
Any other cost savings tips would be great as well....such as you know a dealer in So Calif that doesn't charge certain fees such as destination, assembly etc...
Thanks in advance!

I live in SoCal as well. Your best bet is to get on cycletrader and look for 22/23 models that have been sitting around for a while. Start calling and ask for out the door pricing. If they try to get you to come in, tell them work and family really prevents you from having the free time. You're going to have to shop this bike over phones and emails and once you decide you are showing up ready to purchase and neet to be out asap. If you mention you want the warranty they might cut back on the markup fees a bit as they view that as profit. Be prepared for some bait and switches though and get the sales persons name when they say the amount you like. Currently Del Amo of Redondo has two 2022's in cyan they look like they want to get rid of.

I got my bike in May 2022. I got 4 years extended service last January through Yamaha's website for $694.

I purchased the extended 4 year warranty for $735.71. So far I am happy with it. Here's my experience so far with warranty work.
My bike threw a check engine light in Sep 15 2023 @ approx 8,644 miles. This was after the standard warranty would have expired. No rideability issues. Light went off on its after cycling ignition around 10 times or so. It threw code P2135 for the throttle position sensor.
200 Miles later on Oct 2, light came back on. The earliest I could bring for service was Oct 11 2023. I had to pay $149.28 for them to find nothing wrong with the bike. Since there was no repair made, I had to pay the $150. I picked it up on Nov 3 2023. Dealer put 5 miles on it.
On Nov 18 2023, after ~370 miles, the light came back on and I brought it back to the dealer. On Dec 2 2023, they called me to say they identified an issue with the throttle position sensor and will be replacing it. I asked how much it would have costed me if I didn't have warranty. They said around $900-1400 (due to the diagnostic time).
Today, Jan 4 2024, I still have no bike and no update from the dealer.
The throttle position sensor costs less than $100 from partzilla. People on here who are smarter than me, mentioned I wouldn't be able to program the sensor if I bought it myself.
Anyway, that's been my experience with my 2022 MT-10 along with my warranty experience, and price. I hope my story helps take the extended warranty into consideration.
Overall, I like having the peace of mind that if something extraordinarily bad happens with my bike, it's covered under warranty. Motorcycle maintenance for a DiYer is harder than ever due to the lack of dealer software which makes troubleshooting lightyears easier. I would purchase it again.

I bought the YES warranty in November 2017 for my 2016 FZ-10. Never had a use for it, bike never had an issue or ever threw a code. It's seven years old now and it still hasn't had any work done by the dealer except for tire changes, I do oil, filter changes and other maintenance stuff myself. I've had two extended warranties on my Lexus's and only had one $1,000 repair (failed rear hatch motor). I thought about getting an extended warranty on my 2015 Ford Focus ST in 2018, but passed in the end, the warranty would have run out in Sept 2023 but it would have been useless as the car never coughed or had any problem. In my view Extended Warranties are a waste of money overall, I'm not buying anymore warranties.
