Hey All, I know this is a super slim chance, but here goes nothing... When looking through the service manual for the 2022 MT-10, it's unfortunate that the Yamaha Diagnostic Software (YDS) is now referenced so often. It's no surprise that Yamaha doesn't want us servicing our own bikes. I'm really surprised that there isn't more information available online about this software. I got most of my information from these sources, and the 2022 MT-10 service manual nhsta90890-03269-00 <- This is the YDS software, which comes on a USB drive. It's around $400... 90890-03264-00 <- Then you need to get a harness to interface the bike to the computer. Which is around another $400 - It really seems like if we want to truly diagnose our bikes, this software is required. I'm interested to get some feedback from you all to know what information you have about the software, and if someone has managed to get a local version working for diagnosing components.

I don't have anything like that but do have a suitable harness and USB dongle, and an app on my phone that allows me to read fault codes from the bike (and clear them). I believe it is OBD2 standard.

Yamaha Diagnostic Tool YDT (with YDS) does following things and many more OEM functions: 1) Stores motorcycle data, Service history, ECU bin/firmware software/version linked to your VIN/Chassis. Shares this with Yamaha for warranty purposes (regional requirement, not for all countries) 2) Diagnose electrical/ECU/Sensor issues with details description and resolution steps. (this is done in basic way by 3rd party OBD/Euro5 diagnostic tool) 3) Automatically runs modulators like ABS to test critical performance and shows results/issues. (This is required recommended after major overhaul ex: brake bleed, component replacement, etc..) During authorized dealer service, they connect YDT and perform these functionality, save report and complete service. You can live without it but with newer electronic loaded motorcycle, its getting tough if detailed service or maintenance is required as per the book. for daily, normal service needs, regular OBD/Euro 5 works well. YDT Reading Fault: (sorry for image quality, its a screenshot from Video) YDT Checking all sensors: (sorry for image quality, its a screenshot from Video) YDT Checking all parameters: (sorry for image quality, its a screenshot from Video)

Is it even possible to use the software as a consumer? I know in the past from working at dealers that software was dealer-only and couldn't even be ordered by or sold to the consumer. We could lose our dealer license by selling software to the consumer. It also typically requires a dealer code/username and password to log into. Is this not the case anymore?

Unfortunately, I guess it's still dearly only.. I was really hoping that someone somewhere has some type of workaround other than just a simple OBD2 code reader.
