So I don't typically use a battery tender for battery on the bike, if my bikes sit for long periods of time I just pull the battery out, charge it, and leave it stored under a full charge. But we're remodeling my house and my weekends are going to be a bit shot so I don't think I'll be riding as much through the winter so I want to keep the battery in the bike and charged so I still have the option to ride when I can. But this is not working for the FZ.
If I throw the battery tender on, the indicator light shows the battery as fully charged and I presume no charging is happening . If i Rip the battery out and hook it up, it'll charge it like normal. I've had this battery tender for a while through a few bikes and I don't have any issues with the track bike, it's only been the FZ. Just stumped on why this could be. The Google didn't have any good answers.
It's a regular battery, not Lithium. I don't have any additional electronic accessories in the bike.

Check the fuse in the battery tender lead attached to the battery. Don't ask how I know this.

Hi RedAndBlack I use Optimate charger both on my motorcycles and cars. So as i understand most of chargers have features like Save, Charge, Optimize, Test and Maintain. When battery is fully charged charger goes to Test or Maintain mode, if you remove charger when its on Test or Maintain mode, and plug it back again, it goes back to Charge or Optimize mode, which i believe is normal and after sometime back to test or maintain mode. If you are doubting charging, test battery after fully charging it (and leave it disconnected from charger for few days) for 12.7V or greater. Let us know whats going around..

That makes sense. I got a work radio that works that way and I have to do that sometimes. I'll try it! Thanks!
