i have been riding since I was little on a basket case 1973 Honda CT-70, rode the heck out of it and in high school I upgraded to my brothers 81 Honda Hawk 400, sold that back to my brother a few years later, got married ,then after my second was born, I acquired my friends 1983 Suzuki GS 850, that was a heavy bike compared to more modern bikes, but it served me well, then in 2004 we had a major hurricane hit my area, and when everything got back to normal ( so to speak) I was cruising by the Suzuki dealer ( it sustained damage in the hurricane ) and they had a few bikes on (hurricane) sale, because they were damaged they had extreme discounts on the bikes, and there I saw it, my next love, a yellow 2002 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 with 0 miles on it, and a lot of dented sheet metal , a hole in the seat, and a lot of broken plastic, but for 50% off list price, I couldn’t resist , I hadn’t even heard it run till I picked it up, but we needed each other, the old GS was like a plow horse in comparison , I fixed her up and still have her 20 years later, I was totally happy, untill.... I went to a motoamerica race in Pittsburg, and heard my first mighty R-1 crossplane exhaust note screaming around the track, I was hooked on that sound!!. at my age super sport ergonomics do not do me to well, but then I discovered the FZ-10, it took me a while to find one I could afford, but patience paid off, I found a 2017 FZ-10 at a local dealer with 3500 miles on it, it has many of the common mods, cat delete, airbox mod, etc, it has a power commander on it , I tried a stock tune and it barely ran, and the u.s. maps from pc did not work, so I used a euro map, and now it’s a beast again. Cant wait to meet y’all.
