The light first came on when I was washing the bike(Like a month ago). I had it on a rear paddock stand... I turned the bike on and left it on neutral to get the chain to spin which makes it easier to clean. Once I was ready to actually use the bike after I was done washing it, I noticed the check engine light was on but drove it like that to my destination because I had no choice since it is my only vehicle. The bike sounds and feels normal. I bring this up because of an MT09 Post where the guy had the same error code and it seems to have been caused by the same thing. He says "Pretty sure it was down to running the back wheel on the stand with the front not moving." Is it something I can fix myself? Should I just clear the error code and see if it comes back? I looked up that error code on google and Im still not sure what the issue is

I believe it's a wheel speed sensor code. Should reset itself after driving.

Fault Code P2158 is for Front Wheel Sensor: no normal signals are received from the front wheel sensor. With this fault code, Engine and vehicle will be able to run. Back in Feb 2023, I had similar issue Fault Code P0500: Vehicle Speed Sensor A, erased the code and Engine Fault light "OFF". Run the vehicle to see if fault is gone or repeats due to real issue. I will erase the code and see if it comes back. So glad I just bought this little ODB sensor that was recommended in another thread. Saved me about $400+ by not having to take it to a mechanic

Saved me about $400+ by not having to take it to a mechanic If the key was off that won't matter. It can trigger the fault if one wheel moves and the other doesn't while the key is on. I've seen buggered up ABS sensors (both front and rear) from improper wheel installation. The front one can also get messed up if you use a fork stand that hits it. PitBull sells a special front piece for ABS bikes which works great: www.pit-bull.com/browse-yamaha/browse-yamaha/yamaha-fz10/hybrid-swivel-abs-friendly-design-left-side-only-f0100-007Most of the time I just use the headlift accessory though because I don't feel like taking it off lol
