Rear tire has a larger contact patch than the front, so it has more surface area. Might be dangerous for you, but has never been a problem for me on the track or the street. Question, ever brake hard enough to lift the rear wheel off the ground? I guess "A Man Needs To Know His Limitations". If you are ham fisted with the trottle and not smooth, I could see you burning up a rear tire before the front. See, there's the difference. If you're riding that hard where you're lifting the rear on braking then 100% 1:1 is your normal. For me 90-ish % commuting 2:1 is my normal. You can't make a blanket statement saying "yer suspenzionz are not reight" when our use cases are polar opposites. Get a bike to ride only in the city with a little highway and commuting. Keep the other bike for track days and canyon carving. You'll see the difference fast.

When you don't know someone you might want to think first be for you post. I have a built ZX10R that is my track bike. Don't commute or ride on the "Highway" unless I need to get to the twisties. Sold my Councours that I use to use to travel to the tracks when I was a mechanic for On Edge Racing.

GET A BIKE AND DO NOTHING BUT COMMUTING STYLE RIDING WITH IT and then you'll see where the rest of us are getting 2:1 tire use.

Seems like you always have a point on everything. Not that it is always correct.

Seems like you always have a point on everything. Not that it is always correct. I fail to see anything incorrect about my statements. You and I ride on 100% opposite ends of the spectrum. As such me going through 2 rears to one front is 100% plausible where with your riding style 1:1 is plausible. Yet you're the one who's failing to see any viewpoint but your own.

I stopped trying because that guy clearly knows everything and everyone else is wrong. Just let him be the master of his own universe.

All of us have our own way. One person’s truth is not another’s. Just roll with your experience and let others have theirs. Happiness is all that matters, and conflict sucks. Let me tell ya my happiness is mashing the throttle of my MT, driving my car fast when safe, and carving up a mountain on my skis.
My truth is 2:1 rear to front wear on all bikes I’ve owned in my life.
