I had a Yoshi on my FZ1. I liked the design of the plate light and how simple the FE was all together. Fit and finish is excellent as well. It's just gonna get dirty anyway, nobody really gonna see it, but it makes a difference to me.
Of all the other FE kits I've seen, the Yoshi is the best option, although it is too expensive for what it is. My .02...maybe .018.

Yoshimura fender eliminator is arriving tomorrow. Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced my positap connectors and if there's a drawback to positap it's that they don't have a decent distribution network.

Got my bike yesterday, and already have it apart, trying to unsuccessfully adapt the stock tail. I want the bike to look as OEM as possible, and won’t change anything, so which is the better FE for that? Vagabond or Yoshi? Thx.

vagabond and yoshi are the 1a/1b recs that I've seen for FE in terms of OEM-caliber quality.
- Yoshi supplies their own light. Vagabond recycles the OEM light. - Vagabond recommends cutting the OEM key cover. Yoshi does not (my key cover does not fit ideally in the yoshi bracket, but it's still fully functional) - I believe the Yoshi bracket has the plate more perpendicular to the ground. I believe the vagabond plate is angled more sharply. - Yoshi plate is more extended from the bike than the vagabond plate.
I personally believe the yoshi bracket is closer to an OEM look and it doesn't require permanently altering the key hole cover. In any case, both are quality units.

Thanks brother, but now have 2 more questions. First, which material is each made from? And can you bend the Vagabond to be more vertical? If it’s aluminum, maybe not. I wouldn’t like to cut any wires, so as you put them, I’m inclined for the Vagabond, but don’t like the plate that inclined. Mind much less cutting the key hole cover, since I don’t plan to ever use the stocker again. In fact, would throw away the leftover pieces of the stock unit. Thx.

I actually had the Vagabond in my hands but the more I looked at it I just didn't like the shallow angle of the license plate, it looked a little too 'boy racer' for my tastes. Some riders like that look if they use toll roads because the shallow angle sometimes makes an ID picture unreadable, but that isn't a factor for me, nor for you I would guess. I didn't think I could bend the bracket to make the plate look more like stock, it's a very stiff construction. So I returned it and got the Yoshimura. It looks more like OEM to me. You do get a new LED plate light that is a bit more stylish and compact than the stock unit. You do have to cut the plate wires but that is no biggie, I used a couple of Positap screw connectors and in 18 months no issues. Spring loaded key hole cover transfers perfectly from the stock bracket to the Yoshimura. The Vagabond is a one piece unit, the Yoshimura is multi-piece but once it is all screwed together with a plate on it is very stiff. It really depends on your taste and if you feel the Yoshimura unit is worth the extra $45 or so, I thought it was. No complaints in 18 months of use.
