Today was my MT 10 inspection for yearly registration renewal. One of the test authority perform is to check Brake Force (in daN) using brake test rollers. Last two years this test was passed without any issues and i drove home happy! But today after the inspection (passed) while driving back i noticed Engine Light was "ON"! After reaching home and while searching for OBD 2 scanner & Yamaha diagnostic connector, i kept negative disconnected to see if Engine Fault light goes away, but it did not even after 1-2 hour disconnected from battery. Connected scanner, found Code P0500 (Vehicle Speed Sensor A), erased the code and Engine Fault light "GONE" (Yet to run the bike again, but pretty sure it wont come back again for same reason...) Conclusion: OBD 2 Scanner with Yamaha diagnostic connectors are very handy and will save hundreds of whatever currency you use from resetting such codes through agency or repair shop.

That code is for the rear wheel sensor (with the "A"). Did you or the inspector run the bike with the wheel off the ground? Or maybe it was the brake test that caused it?
That's pretty shitty that an inspection is intrusive enough to cause a CEL that can't be cleared without going to the dealer or having an OBD2 tool.
Luckily in California we don't have that or smog. But it was a tremendous pain in the ass to initially register my FZ out here since it was considered an "out of state" vehicle even though it was a California model.

Its strange because i am getting same inspection done (although different location) for my R1M since 2018 (repeated every year), and for both my MT 10s since 2021 (every year too...). Same place for last two year i had no issues, but this time it happened...! I think the inspector was too harsh on it or didn't now how "Master of Torque" works... I will keep posting if this CEL occurs again (hope not..)

I have to chuckle at Yamaha's decision to go with "Master of Torque" when there's other naked bikes with way more than 82. The SDR has 106. Monster 1200 has 91. Streetfighter V4 has 90.7. Tuono V4 has 89. ZH2 has 87.6. Speed Triple has 86. S1000R has 83. Z1000 has the same 82. The GSX-S 1000 and CB1000R are the only ones with less, at 78 and 76 respectively. So "The MAster Of Torque" list literally tied for 3rd lowest amount lol.

Also, on paper the MT-10 may make more torque than the GSX-S, but after with the same mods and after tuning by the same tuner (on the same dyno), my 2020 GSX-S made more horsepower and torque than my 2023 MT-10. GSX-S made 9rwhp more and 3lb ft torque more. Master of Torque is a bad name for these bikes, especially with their lack of low RPM usability. Still love the bike, but after selling the Suzuki for the Yamaha, it's a bit disappointing. Old bike:
